Arran? ‘Be aware’ warning only as core single vessel operating. Yesterday, 1 out of 8 cancelled but plenty spaces on the others.
Barra? Barra Eriskay ‘Normal service’, Oban Barra ‘one of more sailings disrupted due to strong winds.’ Yesterday, all 3 Barra services at 100%. The Dame lies about this.
Coll? ‘Due to an oil leak, the vessels port stabiliser has been temporarily taken out of operation. As a result, there are now limitations in place regarding the weather and sea states in which the vessel can safely operate and service is at risk of short notice disruption or cancellation.’ Yesterday, Coll Oban and Coll Tiree 100%. The Dame lies again.
Colonsay? Just ‘Be aware’ notice for ‘Due to an essential training exercise, passage time may be slightly longer than timetabled.’
Dunoon? Again single vessel core service with 30 crossings, 100% yesterday.
Harris? Normal service notice so a complete fib on this one. Yesterday 100%.
Islay? ‘Be aware’ notice only ‘From Monday 8th January 2024, an amended timetable will be in operation to allow for the next phase of CMAL’s infrastructure works at Kennacraig Ferry Terminal. ‘ Yesterday, 100% service.
Mull? Normal service notice so complete fib again. Yesterday 10 crossings Oban Craignure 100%.
North Uist? Skye service ‘Normal’, Harris service’ due to tidal conditions. Yesterday 100% to Lochmaddy. Dame?
South Uist? ‘Due to strong winds forecast the vessel will berth in Lochboisdale and not Castlebay as scheduled’. Yesterday 100% to Lochboisdale. Dame?
Tiree? ‘Be aware’ ‘Due to an oil leak, the vessels port stabiliser has been temporarily taken out of operation. I was going to say that I remember Anne McGuire before she became a member of the aristocracy and was simply an MP, but I don’t recall any of her contributions to public life.

Oh how witty she is in her tweet (Not) on Ferries in saying “how far we have sunk“…..but some have really sunk very very low in accepting a ‘Title’….Damehood no less……..does it come with ‘perks’…..must do surely….political Gravy train keeps on chugging along…..Labour politicians always eager to get (stay) on board too…..
But…the plot thickens (as in gets even dirtier)…..
As….she is a member of….quelle surprise….the Labour Friends of Israel.….and…she even went further as she became it’s Chair in May 2013 and was described by LFI Director Jennifer Gerber as “a true friend of Israel”…..but she’s not the only Labour politician who are their TRUE ‘Friends”….is she…..
She was quoted as once describing the vote over cutting benefits for single mothers as the closest she came to rebelling against the government (but didn’t rebel she just went with the cruellest option thus she must have either abstained or voted with the Govt )…..how humane of her….
She was also quoted as saying that in her supporting the 2003 Iraq War it “being the most difficult decision she had to make” (but she did make a decision on it didn’t she and it was , as per, via another Labour ‘politician’, the wrong decision) and here we now have Labour talking about them seeking a ‘Humanitarian’ ceasefire re Gaza and yet once many in Labour agreed to (Voted FOR) an illegal war based on lies )…plus once upon a time many of them, like Anne McGuire, , also made the inhumane decision to either abstain or vote for the “cut to benefits for single mothers”……
So “cutting benefits for single mothers” was the “closest she came to rebelling against the Govt”….but not so close as to actually put those in need (single mothers and their children) before politics though (HQ party before people for Labour always)……
Plus she , was one of many Labour politicians, who also supported the illegal war against Iraq…..yet she has the cheek to criticise what she calls a “debacle” with Ferries (FFS) via the SNP…..well what about the Illegal war in Iraq that her leader Tony Blair , the War criminal , conned the whole HOC to vote for…..well that was bloody well more than a “debacle” it was an absolute bloody disgrace and a Scandal…..yet post that scandalous episode he then became ‘Sir’ Tony Blair…..yet another example of another UK stitch up that rewards failure and Liars.…and one that DAME Anne McGuire would prefer was never mentioned ever again…..as truth hurts and Labour much prefer lying…..and obviously pointing the finger at others as being #BAD…..well I have two fingers that I would like to, not point, but use in a gesture to her and her party…..but better still I’ll just keep voting FOR the SNP and NEVER FOR the Labour party.…that works far far better….LOL
Plus of course always campaign for, always support and will vote for….Scottish independence…

In desperation as an election looms – seeking every possible opportunity to advance electoral prospects by misrepresentation – there are a few Labour members/activists taking to X to comment on ‘ferries’. Another example is from a CLP Secretary from NE Scotland – and reposted by Labour candidate, Torcuil Crichton – who tweeted: ‘Three years to build four ferries with the latest battery-electric technology. One can only dream…’ This is made with reference to a recent statement from the Canadian company, BC Ferries.
Now we know well from multiple, well-referenced TuS blog posts just what a poor state the services of BC Ferries have been in for some time: the contrast with the actual, much superior performance of CalMac is stark. But Labour will care little for evidence as this individual glories in his supposedly ‘clever gotcha’ revelation! And Labour will care little for this information on the facts of the vessel procurement:

The order is for four new ISLAND CLASS FERRIES from a Netherlands-based shipyard. No Canadian yard bid for the contract. The news article reports: ‘ISLAND CLASS VESSELS ARE SMALL SHIPS DEDICATED TO SERVING MINOR ROUTES.’
So not vessels you would want to use in your journeys between mainland Scotland and Na h-Eileanan an Iar!

Labour in Scotland is corrupt and rotten to the core but Maguire’s North Lanarkshire Labour regulary gives lessons to the rest. They preach ‘always tell a lie and the bigger the better because if you make it a really big lie people will think it is the truth’ So just to be on messsage Cumbernauld ferries are to run all day as no adverse conditions are reported on the Luggie.
