From the Daily Mail on February 3rd 2024 but ignored by Scottish media:

The Scottish Mail on Sunday can reveal at least 55 gangs have been identified operating north of the Border – more than double the number in 2020.

County lines is the phenomenon whereby drug dealers from cities expand their operation by crossing county borders into smaller towns and rural areas.

Gangs from parts of England have forced youngsters and vulnerable adults – aged from 14 to 77 – to smuggle packages of heroin, crack cocaine and other narcotics into Scotland on buses and trains.

Try searching for ‘BBC Scotland County Lines gangs’ and get only a story from October 2019, one from May 2021 and this from TuS in June 2023:

Why?

Are English County Lines gangs coming up here and…..bad for the image of their Union?

Why are they keen to come here? Opportunities and little local opposition:

Replace ‘Scotland’ with ‘England’ in that search and:

  1. ” Why are they keen to come here? Opportunities and little local opposition: ” – Or a media who will cover their arses for the sake of political propaganda advantage ?

I’m no fan of the Sunday Post, but I do know from Ayrshire family that the Kirsty Storrar splash hit a nerve at the time whilst BBC Scotland were pushing the ‘mutant pigeon shit assassination squad via the AC’ story round about that point in their QEUH propaganda campaign…

However, there have been several more incidents since which demonstrate the threat posed by propaganda quay turning a blind eye, this for instance from STV in Aug 2023 https://news.stv.tv/scotland/county-lines-drug-dealers-who-took-over-vulnerable-narcotic-users-houses-to-use-as-bases-jailed who totally overblew the non-existent disconnect between police forces sharing intelligence across the UK.

You only need look at what James Cook promotes today on the BBC/Scotland website as ‘the news where you are’, to realise helping families protect their kids remains pretty low on his priority list for obtaining a ‘gong’….. Perhaps he might consider the “once Offord but never refused” approach and and instruct staff to report the “news where they are” whilst he ‘makes arrangements’…. I shan’t hold my breath…

  2. it may be that the uk committee gives tacit approval as the resulting drug deaths show scotland in a bad light abd of course provide undercover activities for them.

that would explain lack of police effort and msm silence

  3. There has been a recent spate of police Scotland finding large quantities of drugs and I assumed they were county line gang successes. But nada about the impacts on vulnerable people.

  4. Spend Police funding on catching crooks. Not keeping innocent people on remand. Arresting people before investigating. Instead of investigating and then arresting.

Spending funds on Ranger fiasco, show trials and campervan chaos. A total waste of public monies. A caution should be given for mild misdemeanours.
