52 days of doctors strikes averted, more than 100 000 appointments and 5 000 lives saved by Humza Yousaf but his removal is what Labour desire most

Above, the shocking picture of 52 out of the last 365 when doctors were on strike in England. There were no days lost to action in Scotland.

According to the Guardian on 10 January, junior doctor strikes caused around 1.3 million appointments to be cancelled. Had there been comparable action in Scotland, around 130 000 appointments would have been lost.

According to the Telegraph on 2 January, there were nearly 53 000 excess deaths in 2023 ‘amid’ the strikes across the UK so, had there been strikes in Scotland, the implication is more than 5 000 deaths were averted by the actions of Humza Yousaf as Health Secretary and then as FM in respecting, meeting with and settling with both consultants and junior doctors, without a single day lost to action.

  1. Meanwhile the media in Scotland ” No Junior Doctor’s strikes in Scotland you say”…..sweep sweep under the carpet…..let’s instead promote “opposition parties say Humza (or Health Secretary) should resign”…..hoping the public are unaware of how both Humza and (former) Scottish Health Secretary averted strikes in Scotland…..

“Labour in Scotland say” also known as the third party at Holyrood and not the official opposition…..that surely means, for balance, that the SNP as the third party at WM should then have the same prominence as Labour do in Scotland….. that is the SNP MP’s should be given the exact same recognition/prominence by all of the media in England in all that they say against the Tory PM, Tory government ministers and too the Tory UK government…..for balance surely !

Alas that is not how it ever works or plays out in their UK…is it !

    1. Yep and someone I follow on twitter yesterday, said she’d been out for meal with two friends, both SNP sceptics. Discussion about what SNP are doing to keep Scotland’s head above water, ie, social democratic, social contract style of government as it should be, and looking after the people policies. Later on her pal contacted her, and said they were quite angry they didn’t know about the facts and were going ‘back to SNP’…so most likely people who watch the British nationalist state controlled propaganda.
Propaganda works even in the era of internet and ‘social media’ which the powers that be attempt to suppress.
