In 2023, 58 782 people waited for more than 12 hours in Scotland’s Emergency Departments.
All things being equal, with 10 times the population, NHS England should then have had around 588 000 waiting for more than 12 hours.
However, according to ‘analysis of the official data by the (UK) Liberal Democrats‘, reported in the Guardian today, the figure was 1 540 945, pro rata, nearly 3 times as many.
Have the Scottish Lib Dems been asked to comment?
Will the Scottish Health Secretary offer to help NHS England?
Will BBC Scotland report this?

58 782 is a big number when presented out of context. I am sure the Scottish media or her Dameness the Jaikie of Baillie will be eyeing this as a potential “SG bad” article and comment.

Aside the arrogance and dismissiveness of Simons, consider WHO he said should be put on barges – The smuggler gangs…
Talk about total disconnect – If caught, they go to jail, assets seized, rinse repeat…
The problem lies with an immigration and asylum system which was screwed with and defunded as part of HMG’s ‘hostile’ policy… Small boats was the response…

Labour Together Think Tank was set up in June 2015 by former BLUE Labour Director John Clarke (Blue Labour was it’s former name) and it was then renamed as ‘Labour Together’ in September of that same year….’Blue Labour’ is a ‘British’ campaign group that seeks to promote Blue collar and Culturally Conservative values.
‘Blue Labour’ saw the EU as a centralising force which limits the capacity for democratic decision-making about life in the UK…… In particular, the idea of a Single Market.
So with Josh Simons the Director of the now renamed Labour Think Tank ‘Labour Together’ stating “‘Why don’t you put the smuggler gangs on the barge and ship it to Scotland for all I care? ” we see that for those who promote and back Labour that Scotland is seen as an insignificant destination whose only purpose is dumping undesirable people (or indeed Nuclear waste & the UK’s weapons of mass destruction etc) in a statement that those Pro UK Labour people make as a throw away comment…… caring NOT if they offend the people who live there….very much like Timbuktu as a reference often made when someone states that they care not what happens to someone or something…..(let’s also NOT forget that a Tory MP Lee Anderson also suggested that a solution ,for what he and others refer to as illegal immigrants, was to send them all to an Island in Scotland….now we would welcome more people to come to Scotland but that was not really Lee’s point…he was saying England does not want them so send them to the colony……kinda vibe).
The fact that he, Josh Simons, the Director of a Labour Think Tank felt comfortable saying this kinda exposes the insignificance he thinks Scotland has in his UK….and kinda also reflects how Labour HQ also sees us…..as for him to feel that in saying this there would be no backlash or admonishment from those that mattered within Labour HQ well that speaks volumes does it not…….so New New Labour, like the Tories, plunder our resources and see us as only a solution for harmful things (Trident) and (innocent) immigrants and also criminals (people smugglers) that they do not want in England and who they see as a solution solved by turning to Scotland….as the English dumping ground….what a winning vote for New New Labour in Scotland….NOT !

Josh Simons Director of ‘Labour Together’ has now issued ,via Twitter, an ‘apology’ for his OFFENSIVE remark on LBC in respect to Scotland.
“Following my comments on LBC last night, I apologise for any negative insinuation about Scotland. I’m half Scottish, I love the country and it is where much of my family comes from. It was a poorly judged comment made in jest and doesn’t reflect my views, or the views of the Labour Party.
I was seeking to draw attention to the immorality of housing asylum seekers who are fleeing persecution on a barge while smuggler gangs get off free under the Conservatives”.
So he says he was “seeking to draw attention to the immorality of housing asylum seekers” ……what ?…..by suggesting they could send the “people smugglers aka “smuggler gangs” to Scotland ?…..and he also said it was a comment “made in jest”….more a case of him having a distasteful sense of humour then….what with Scotland yet again the butt of the joke via a British (English) Nationalist more like !
Ah so is that Twitter ‘apology’ a ‘Why some of my family/(best) friends are XYZ’…..kind of apology…..to somehow then assume that , in you saying that you have a connection with that which you had been so disrespectful (offensive) towards…..you then, via your subsequent ‘apology’ then cannot possibly be seen to be as one, who in making that OFFENSIVE statement , was then in any way trying to be in any way OFFENSIVE….. or in his case so wantonly reckless and insensitive to how OFFENSIVE your comment was to Scotland and it’s people that it, as a statement, just……rolled of your tongue…..so why was Scotland considered appropriate by him as a place to send the smuggler gangs to and not any other nation in the UK ?
I think this is more a case of Labour YET AGAIN trying to shut down another controversy potentially escalating than it being an actual genuine apology (quick issue an apology Josh before more Scots hear about it)….as in yet another potential negative connected to New New Labour growing arms and legs via voters in Scotland….
Though perhaps NOT nay NEVER growing arms and legs as a well publicised story in Scotland via the media here as they currently are way too focused upon ,distracted by , collectively attacking and keeping alive/regurgitating new and old British Nationalist smears against the SNP and Scottish government ministers and former and current FM’s of Scotland….and thus creating, on behalf of Pro UK parties (Labour party this time) more #SNPBAD stories in Scotland……
So even Labour’s Think Tanks make U-Turns…….but then if they were really so politically astute in the first place then they, like New New Labour HQ, would not need to U-Turn or (be forced to) apologise for many of the OFFENSIVE words and actions they made….would they ?

It was for sure a case of foot in mouth when he’s purportedly supporting Labour “win big” (copyright James Cook) in Scotland, but consider the mendacity – He knows latent racism ( which bubbles beneath the surface most everywhere ) was weaponised leading up to Brexit, straight out of the 1930s handbook, he’s building on it.
Yet as commented above, he chose to phrase it as ‘smuggler gangs’ being sent to ‘thar be dragons’ land on barges because it plays to the same ‘victim’ overtones, “pirates yaar”, yet none on the panel noticed it had sod all to do with their perceived problem of ‘immigrants’.
I fully understand why Scots may be upset being referred to as some modern version of ‘van dieman’s land’, but I dare say Tasmanians are equally perplexed what these bloody poms are up to 223 years later…

I’m sure that idea has some leaway when it comes to the British nationalists, be in no doubt they’d facilitate ‘smuggler gangs being sent to Scotland’ all too readily if push came to shove!

Currently neither the BBC News website or the STV News website have any articles in reference to the Josh Simons anti Scottish comment….but they both STILL have articles on Michael Mathieson re the IPad story….even though he, Mathieson, has now resigned and a NEW Health secretary has been appointed…….agenda much ?
