If the bigger picture doesn’t fit your agenda, maybe just ignoring that for a wee bit that does will get you bad headline.
The Herald today, as it does with health outcomes, crime, roads and all sorts of stuff, ignores the facts and goes all Highland Clearances again, on the way no doubt to blaming Nicola and putting the case for a Forbesian putsch.
They’ve carefully picked out Sutherland.
Why?
Well this:

The population in the Highlands has increased by between 10% and 15% in the 20 years from 2001 and 2021.
Notably it is declining fast in Dame Jackie Baillie’s nuclear arms-friendly West Dunbartonshire.

I see from the map that Inverclyde is part of the tectonic plate shift and has now drifted northwards to what used to be called Argyll & Bute.
Anyway, its break time in the Scottish Covid Inquiry and Nicola seems to be batting away the “missing whatsapp” nonsense reasonably well.
Just why its not now called the “Whatsaspp Inquiry” I will never know.

The population in Scotland was 5million from 1900 and before. Dipped in 1950s (WW2?). The Scottish population only increased from Devolution 2000. 5.4million.

“Dipped in 1950s (WW2?)”
Many were left behind on the beaches when the English fled from Dunkirk. 😉
