117 bottles of Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs at your expense in Boris parties but ‘your’ media has SNP leaders swearing about him

From SNP Media today:

Responding to the publication of the cost of drinks served at Boris Johnson’s Brexit party, the SNP’s Scotland spokesperson, Tommy Sheppard MP said:

“It’s shameful that Boris Johnson’s boozy Brexit party cost the taxpayer £7,897.

“While the disgraced former Prime Minister and his advisers guzzled wine from the taxpayer-funded government wine cellar, people across Scotland lamented the loss of their EU membership, their access to the world’s largest single market and customs union, and their ability to live and work in 27 countries.

“For context, that means No.10 consumed 117 bottles of Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs – which sells for around £65 per bottle – and 10 bottles of white wine from the Chapel Down vineyard. Naturally, those who prefer red wine ironically had to look towards the EU for their tipple, with 11 bottles of Italian Valpolicella 2017 drunk.

“Westminster has wrecked Scotland’s economy with a hard Brexit that we did not vote for. Only the SNP are willing to stand up for Scotland and work towards a better, greener, and more prosperous economy within the European Union.”

  1. Some of our neighbours who voted ‘no’ to Scottish independence in 2014, voted remain in 2016, they had the ‘remain’ posters up in their windows. Some have adult kids in England, some have sons/daughters in law from countries like Germany. Given that Brexit was forced onto Scotland, where 62% of the people voted to stay in the EU, and every single constituency in Scotland voted ‘remain’, you’d think people of Scotland would be very very angry indeed. You’d think they’d be so angry they’d want to independent of the country next door, which has taken them down a very dark and dangerous path with England’s ‘Brexit’.

Brexit was and is a massive attack on Scottish democracy, I sometimes wonder if Scotland should have rejected the English referendum even taking place and certainly should have and should be shouting from the rooftops how it is a massive democratic deficit for Scotland having been forced onto Scotland and indeed Scotland being locked out of ALL talks about the type of Brexit that Scotland would be landed with. It’s catastrophic!

The SNP and the Scottish Greens imo, must put the undemocratic, catastrophic Brexit forced onto Scotland, at the forefront of their campaigns as to why Scotland must secure independence in order to move towards some sort of deal with rEU, otherwise Scotalnd really be a basket case because any food and fuel shortages etc coming to the ‘UK’, will impact Scotland far more than in England. The lorries of products and food are going to stay south of the border when the chips are down, to make a wee pun.

The rich will escape the worst of it, they have money to escape elsewhere that’s if the planet survives the next few years, (just check out this, https://thebulletin.org/doomsday-clock/current-time/) not so for the sheeple in England, and Scotland will be thrwon to the dogs.

Oh and this is how the richest of the richest might survive armageddon. Hunker down in the bunker. No thanks!

  2. Watching Ms Freeman give evidence just now. The KC is going big on Woolhouse evidence in his questioning of Ms Freeman as if Woolhouse was the only expert worth mentioning. The SG consulted widely and as Ms Freeman has repeatedly said so did Dr Calderwood who is being dragged into this because Woolhouse was corresponding with her. Woolhouse prominence here is not exactly justified but seems to provide a convenient stick to beat the SG’s response/actions in the early stages of the pandemic
