A GP surgery with no GPs at all! BBC Norfolk are unconcerned

BBC Norfolk’s reporters are concerned about lack of space in one GP practice but not about lack of GPs in another.

Mundesley Medical Centre plans to operate with no GPs at all and just one part-trained Physician Associate:

Local MP, Duncan Baker (Con) is young, fit and on £93 000 MP salary plus being ‘a beneficiary of the MJM Baker Discretionary Will Trust, a trust with property and investment income (undeclared)’ doesn’t need the NHS, thank you very much:

Why am I telling you this? As Anas Sarwar says ‘We don’t care about Norfolk, we want more GPs here!’

Well, I bring you this as the latest in the TuS series ‘Imagine that happened in Scotland?’

Can you?

‘Dr Iain Kennedy says SNP is driving all GPs away from Scotland to work in Norfolk!’

Your turn.

  1. Not about GPs, but there is a non-story about amendments to the Children’s Panel Act going through Holyrood, which will, amongst other things, reclassify 17 year-olds as ‘children’ under the terms of the Act. The report by former Labour candidate Catriona Renton comprises a single vox pop from a mother whose 9 year old son was sexually assaulted – possibly raped – by another child; an appalling experience. The mother is complaining that because the alleged perpetrator is also a child the privacy conditions regarding child suspects mean that the mother has been unable to obtain information about the alleged attacker. The report then goes on to a statement by Victim Support Scotland expressing concern about aspects of the current amendment and the alleged lack of consideration for victims. However, she does not say – the report does not tell us – what she would like to see in the amendment. The amendment follows a report prepared by a retired Sheriff with the intention of reducing the chances of children becoming entangled in the criminal justice system and to reduce the chances of recidivism.

    Why is this given space?
