In the Guardian today,
Patient safety will be put at risk in the next round of junior doctors’ strikes in England, a health leader has warned while pleading for ministers and the British Medical Association (BMA) to end the dispute.
“Six days of strike action following a bank holiday at a time of enormous pressure, there are real issues around patient safety and we don’t have in place national derogations, which we have had for other strikes,” he said.
“So, yes, there will be an impact on the backlog, but I also have real concerns about patient safety over these days.”

Imagine this was happening in Scotland? Imagine the comments from Anas Sarwar, Jackie Baillie, Douglas Ross?
Meanwhile in Scotland, all health strikes averted by Humza Yousaf including junior doctors.
Meanwhile in the opposition parties, the pay settlements to prevent the above strikes are cast as money wasted by the SNP.

It would stick in the gullet of each and every unionist to admit that the current Scottish government has got this right along with so many other things.

Naga Munchetty interviewing the representative of the junior doctors this morning reached new levels of bias, maybe she was just trying to avoid the risk of a repeat of the Scottish settlement in England increasing her income tax.

This is an interview from a few days ago on Ch4 news. A junior doctor is interviewed by Kathy Newman who is doing her usual impression of a Gov spokesperson.
It is the last sentence of the interview from the junior doctor that packs a punch. Hopefully it has not been cut

Thanks for the link. A cool, composed and articulate Junior Doctor gives not an inch to a stern and seemingly discomfited Ms Newman repeatedly parroting the UK government line.
Twice the doctor makes favourable references to the dispute resolution in Scotland, including (in terms): ‘ the Scottish Government negotiated in GOOD FAITH …’ (my emphasis)

Sorry, but that headline is nonsense.
Junior doctors strikes DO NOT risk patient safety, because those strikes have been long known about and arrangements have been made.
It may delay certain NHS things, but what actually causes harm to patients or even kills them are exhausted Juniors, lack of supervision (because their English consultants are off golfing or doing private work, as we have heard about), poor moral and support, lack of beds, ambulances and diagnostic equipment!
