Why is Humza not being praised for averting another health crisis as English junior doctors say relationship with consultants has ‘increased risk of patients dying?’

In the Guardian today:

Strikes by junior doctors have “fractured” their relationship with consultants and increased the risk of patients dying during action, hospital bosses claim.

The 28 days of industrial action junior doctors have staged this year and the nine days of fresh strikes starting on Wednesday have led to tensions with more senior colleagues who are “worn out” from having to cover for striking junior doctors as well as doing their usual shifts.

Many consultants are frustrated that junior doctors in England are striking twice – this week and from 3 January – at the same time as the NHS comes under its most intense pressure of the year because of the surge in winter illnesses, staff holidays and lack of social care support.

Meanwhile in Scotland, all health strikes averted by Humza Yousaf including junior doctors.

Meanwhile in the opposition parties, the pay settlements above are cast as money wasted by the SNP.

  1. A typically ambiguous report from the Guardian.

The ultra-right wing Labour spokesperson on health is making gung-ho noises about a fight with NHS staff – working people have got to learn to know their place. So, seeking to drive a wedge between consultants and junior doctors is a divide-and-rule tactic.

But The Guardian is not supportive of the UK Government – it wants it replaced by an equally right wing Labour government and one which has friends in North London with senior Guardian staff, so it has to present a piece seemingly hostile to the current Government.

  2. The reason why Humza is not being praised for the work he has done is due to the fact that the unionists are at war with devolution, democracy and the constitution. They have been ever since the conception of the SNP. The scorched earth approach against them is given free rein in the Scottish media and certainly in politics where the SNP and any independent thinking party or individual is fair game to this one sided war.
