  1. Many of the problems are also due to quality of staff. I was shipped out to the Gulf of Mexico, in the 70’s, by an American supply boat company, to find out why our boats in the North Sea, under poor weather conditions, ran non stop while our boats in the Gulf spent half their time tied up. My recommendations were – sack the engineers. One guy told me his total diesel engine experience was looking after a year or on a farm. PS I was there 5 months on a 3 month tourist visa. Wonderment!
