More people move from rest of UK to Scotland than leave after SNP begin to govern and the introduction of progressive taxation has no effect

Contrary to the blabber from Ian Murray MP, Shadowy Secretary of State for Scotland and others before him, NRS statistics reveal UK citizens are settling in Scotland in greater numbers than those leaving.

First, since the SNP came to power, the number leaving has fallen and the number arriving from elsewhere in the UK has surpassed that.

Second, since the first introduction of more progressive taxation in 2017/2018, the trends are unchanged.

Facts. Not something our media care for.

    1. It’ll be a mix, some poorer folk from northern England who will be wanting to escape the chaos of economic and societal mess made to their regions by Labour councils and their English government.
Yes there is a concern imho, because those new to Scotland especially from England, won’t accept that Scotland is a separate country, and they will want to hang onto their Britishness, while benefitting from all of the advantages of living in a country with better services, like not being scared to pick up their meds because of prescription charges as they would be in England, a social security system based on fairness and respect, no university tuition fees plunging young people into massive debt, no raw sewage in their drinking water, lower council tax, etc. A lot of people from EU countries have left the UK and Scotland since England dragged us out of the EU, and that’s not good for Scotland on many levels. Edinburgh has always seemed very European, now it seems more English. As an expat šŸ˜‰ from England, I did not vote in the devolution referendum, as I thought those indigenous to Scotland should decide on their right to the type of governance for their country. I knew little about Scottish history etc.
Now, I would like to see some rules over voting in Scottish elections and referendums, as happens in other countries, where length of and type of residence, (eg no part time or second home ‘owners’) determines when a person is allowed to vote on immensely crucial matters for Scotland. That’s my tuppence worth for today, anyway.
Have a good Monday everyone at TUS. šŸŒž
