Everyone’s favourite right-wing libertarian dickhead Kate Andrews was once again on BBC Question Time (BBCQT). As always, the alleged economist-turned-alleged journalist was discussing the NHS. Of course, as is usually the case with Andrews, her passive-aggressive demeanour and weasel words masked her actual agenda – but only just.

Andrews criticising Scotland, she knows nothing about. The total ignorance and arrogance. 55% go to university in Scotland. 30% from school. 25% mature students. 7% EU students. 15% before Brexit. Foreign students paying the full cost. In the US only 40% have higher degrees. Pisa is a fallacy. Selective in other countries . Only those who will pass highly take the test. South Korea. The majority of pupils lead at 16. Scottish students do not end up in £thousands of debt.
The EU only influences 20% of rules/laws. Good laws, workers rights and human rights. Westminster 70% of rule over Scotland and controls 50% of the revenues. Mismanaging Scottish revenues. Scotland not treated equally. Westminster borrows and spends more in the rest of the UK Scotland has to pay off the debt. £20Billion+. Scotland loses £10Billion because of Brexit. Scotland raises more in revenues, pro rata. £87Billion, so can spend more on public spending.
Ms Andrews does not know how the Barnet Formula works. Westminster loses more tax revenues than before. UK not so highly taxed? Raising less in tax revenues. 2019/20 £817Billion. 2020/21 £731. Spending £1090Billion. Last published Accounts.
