English Labour has fully gone over to the dark side. Keir Starmer, praising Thatcher for bringing ‘meaningful change’ to the UK, shed the last bit of straggly wool trying to disguise the neoliberal wolf Labour has become.[1]
Why anyone in Scotland would cast a vote for English Labour that promises more of Thatcher’s wanton destruction is mind-boggling.
Many won’t remember her trail of wreckage. It started with her economic ignorance. She foolishly believed a government’s finances were like a household’s so she slashed public investment in heavy industry – shipbuilding, steel, coal, engineering, and manufacturing – making it uncompetitive. At the same time, she deregulated the City of London, turning it into the world’s biggest dirty money laundromat, and placed it at the apex of the UK economy. Then she sold off the public sector to private corporations and foreign governments, denuding the UK of its assets. As a coup de grace, she forced the hated poll tax onto her Scottish guinea pigs in a supreme demonstration of English arrogance.
The carnage she wrought was most acutely felt in Scotland. A fifth of the Scottish workforce lost their jobs in just 2 years. Unemployment soared and stayed stubbornly high throughout the 80s, remaining 20% above that of southern England.[2]Desperation and hopelessness spread.
And now Sir Keir is promising to inflict his ‘tough fiscal rules’, code for austerity and privatising the NHS. These people are idiots. They aspire to government but don’t know the first thing about public finance, investment or their duty to care for the people by ensuring jobs, education, and healthcare.
The UK is a plutocracy because the politicians are colluding with the oligarchs. The sovereign Scottish People have the power to end this charade and take their nation back. We just need to do it.

Another example of the UK being run for the benefit solely of English Tory voters.
Even the old adage of “Managed Decline” has been dumped by reckless mismanagement and a policy of fleecing the poor in order to maintain an image of UK prosperity.
London is well on the way to becoming a City state subsidised by it’s hinterland and captured territories.
The Goths will soon be at it’s gates.

Has he seen the state of their rivers and beaches because of deliberate pollution by Water Companies ?
Is he being funded by any of these ?
Does he equate ”England ” with the UK ?
Is he aware , unlike the unelected PM , Sunak , where Scotland lies ? hint : Darlington is NOT in Scotland .
He evidently admires Thatcher – does he agree with her that Scotland can become an independent nation if it elects a majority of SNP MPs ?

Let’s just hope that the people of Scotland haven’t forgotten what Thatcher did in taking a wrecking ball to industry, decimating whole communities. Absolutely dreadful and her horrific legacy lives on.
Let’s also hope that people realise that the Labour branch office of the English Labour party operating in Scotland, are not autonomous, they take their orders from HQ in London. They are not a ‘Scottish’ political party. I fear some who don’t read excellent blogs like this one, and who rely on English/British state media for stories on politics, will be conned into believing that their vote
caste for Labour branch office in Scotland is in any way effective to ousting the English Tory party in the country of Scotland.
Scotland needs independence to escape more years of being ruled by England, a one party state, an ever more democracy denying, dangerous far right regime. Run Scotland fast as you can, before it really is too late.

Starmer is similar to the Tories at their HQ……they are a liability to their branch offices.
Yet the branch offices, together with the media here, try to convince the Scottish public that somehow they, as branch office parties, are, at times, the opposite of all that their HQ’s are promoting…….but irrespective of what they, branch offices, SAY they support or oppose…we all know it is their HQ who get to decide and implement decisions for the UK via their reserved powers as a UK government …..and too they decide what and who they distribute MONIES to within their UK when they ARE the UK government……and in charge of the UK treasury.
If you elect a Labour or Tory MP in a GE in a Scottish constituency then you do so for the benefit of their respective HQ’s and NOT for the benefit of the respective branch offices…….and it appears also NOT for the benefit of Scotland.
Everything Starmer is saying is something one would think many Scots would oppose……yet we find his branch office manager is never challenged by the media on the many clangers being dropped by Starmer, but instead he is given an opportunity to pretend he , as branch office manager, does not agree with the HQ manager and thus a false picture of Labour in Scotland is then presented to the Scottish public by the media……but in reality , in the context of the dominant UK political system, what the branch office manager feels, thinks, supports and opposes means Jack S*it (rhymes with PIT)………for us in Scotland as long as we are STILL a part of their UK.
If you put a tick in the box for a Labour candidate in Scotland in next year’s GE then you are then ticking the box in support of Starmer and New New Labour HQ and that is then you supporting everything he and his party intend to do….which includes adopting Tory policies to include continuing with Tory BREXIT……so no Scottish voter should delude themselves into thinking under New New Labour it will be any different to what they have endured under Tory HQ……it will be a continuation of a flawed and failed UK political system where Scotland is overruled, undermined and disregarded in respect of our country’s needs and wants……and it now seems that Starmer is telling us that his so called five missions are impossible…..to implement …….because he knows the UK is well and truly DUCKED…..he is getting us prepared for HQ Labour, if elected, to use the same excuses as the Tory HQ used……blame the opposition for things they did when they previously were in power….there is now NO money…..we also have a HUGE UK debt…..cannot make Brexit work because Tories ducked it up…….need more privatisation as Tories ducked up the NHS too etc etc etc (but according to Starmer Margaret Thatcher had some of the right ideas….same Thatcher that most Scots detest)
So if that is the future some Scots want well then they can fill their boots and vote Labour….but they will not then fill their bellies or their bank accounts…..indeed they will still HAVE to tighten their belts…a La UK……which as a future does not work for me…..as my aspirations are set a tad higher than just ‘coping’ or in some of my fellow Scots cases NOT ‘coping’……but you get what you get when you tick the WRONG box in the voting booth I guess……as in NO “Change” or “Fresh start” with New New labour as the next UK Government……but instead the same old same old bad UK and it’s politics……
