  1. I WANT MY FREEDOM TO CHOOSE MY GOVERNMENT NOT A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT TELLING WHAT “THEY THINK” IS GOOD FOR US

IF SCOTS LIVING AND WORKINGBIN SCOTLAND WANT TO BE DICTATED TOO I SUGGEST THEY IMMIGRATE TO A COUNTRY NEARBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. The majority voted to stay in the union, as the minority maybe you should emigrate (not immigrate, that’s something entirely different) instead of forcing your will on to the majority of people who don’t want it. 400,000 majority still remains uncontested.

      1. I’m Band C and the figure quoted above for Council Tax is virtually the same as what I pay, but it doesn’t include Water or Sewage charges – they are added on at the end.
I don’t know about the Welsh figure, but the English one quoted is certainly Council Tax only – water & sewage charges there are levied by the Water companies and paid directly to them by the customers.

      2. Wrong, the figures quoted in this post are for council tax only, excluding water and waste water charges. The SNP have been touting this claim around for a while now to bolster falling numbers. The figure provided is correct but deliberately misleading because it excludes water charges.

  2. OT – Noted Angus Cochrane’s “Scottish government delays plan to phase out gas boilers” article being promoted yesterday evening https://archive.ph/wYq2b, and curious which of SG’s opposition was going to be platformed this time, set down to read it.

Fairly typical of BBC “balance” in such pieces, the Opposition get the obligatory ‘negative’ introduced in the first few paragraphs, with mention of the 33bn and questioning how it would be paid for….

The first round of hyperbole fell to Miles Briggs under the heading ” ‘Ten-year timebomb’ ” – Almost choked on my tea over “He said rural properties may need £30,000 of upgrades to meet efficiency standards” – Having just reeled of to my neighbour what insulation he’d need to match my upgrades in what is a decidedly rural setting, in today’s money 500 quid, I wondered who had done Miles’s estimate – Liz Truss ?
    Next
“Scottish Labour net zero spokesperson Sarah Boyack pointed to the £33bn figure and asked where the money was coming from”, and in what she doubtless thought a clever flourish “People don’t need warm words, they need warm homes”.
They always have Sarah, and neither Labour nor Tory governments have lifted a finger to help get them for the last 60 years…

  3. I see a few posting replies on here are of the uneducated variety.
The post is in the title. (Council Tax), (Prescription Charges), (Tuition fees).
Best not to show your ignorance on the world of social media.
No Mention of water in the title

Maybe that’s why most are anonymous 🤔
