This is because the Scottish Government caves in to trade union bullying.

Actually this is because The Scottish Government know how to get round a table and talk to Unions to discuss a deal…………it is not illegal to threaten industrial action to get a better wages, conditions and rights for the workers
, what should be illegal is when governments refuse to even acknowledge that right to strike……..simple.🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴

Until the Smith Commission agreement to give to give the Scottish Government half of the revenues from VAT is assigned or (following Brexit) is devolved, its main source of revenue is through income tax. Those higher pay awards to the public sector will mean more spending (helping businesses) and more revenues (helping public spending).

Accommodation expenses are much higher in the South. London S/E costs are even higher. Double.

I don’t know where they get their information from, but this website suggest that St. Andrews is even dearer than London – at least in terms of monthly rental for flats. £5040 pcm does sound excessive…
