From BBC Devon but ignored by BBC Scotland in may 2023:
A nuclear submarine has left Devonport dockyard after a seven and a half year refit. The 492ft (150m)-long HMS Vanguard arrived for maintenance in December 2015 for a three and a half year refit and an unscheduled refuelling with a new nuclear core.
Luke Pollard, Plymouth Sutton and Devonport MP and shadow armed forces minister, said: “It is good to see HMS Vanguard finally at sea again and I want to thank all the skilled workers at Devonport for their efforts.
“What we do in Plymouth is unique and world-class, but we must acknowledge the MoD’s mismanagement of this refit process. Ministers allowed this project to run over-budget and take twice as long as similar work on HMS Victorious, Vigilant and Vengeance.”

From NIS, in August:
HMS Vanguard, the oldest of the UK’s nuclear-armed submarines finally returned to the Clyde in May after an extended seven and a half years in deep maintenance. The original budget for the work was just over £200m but final costs have now been estimated at more than £500m.

From BBC Scotland on 23 October:
One of CalMac’s oldest ferries has returned to service after 10 months of repairs [cost £2.5 m] to fix the ship. The 38-year-old ship is the second oldest of CalMac’s large vessels and some feared it might be scrapped.

Surely that massive over-run for a sub based in the Clyde would interest the crew in Pacific Quay as much as a wee ferry?

Yes but it’s only Scotland they complain about , can’t be complaining about anything english , the whole English set up is corrupt and a they are quite happy to take us down with their disaster because they can then call it British , to English people calling things British spreads the blame , to us in Scotland we have already worked out that British is just another name for English , when will English people work this out too ?

if I mind right Rosyth and Devonport went head to head a few years ago to be the refit site for the nuclear subs.
Rosyth had every thing ready to go.
Devonport had no drydock big enough.
Devonport won the contract anyways, and they built a new drydock fit for the job.

Jings, it was 1993, it was a political decision by the Major Gov to award the contract to Devonport.
