Today, BBC Scotland, the Herald’s Tom Gordon and the Sun’s Chris Musson have joined in the faux empathy for relatives of the pandemic dead with accusations that the Scottish Government plans to withhold WhatsApp messages on the basis that they have not yet produced them.
Douglas Ross has led the charge with:
Grieving families deserve answers and full transparency from this government. So why has Humza Yousaf not handed over key messages to the inquiry?
Ross has, of course not been challenged with the above from 2 October. During the pandemic, his leader, Rishi Sunak, was Chancellor. The excuse seems lame. Do you have to back up WhatsApp messages yourself? Aren’t they stored by WhatsApp? Further, if you’re not using the same phone as 3 years ago, why has it not been securely saved somewhere?

This was always going to be the danger with two Inquiries running, conflating a story on one Inquiry with a story on the other.
The BBC Scotland article “Scottish government accused of withholding Covid WhatsApps” https://archive.ph/s6QQR reports on the UK Inquiry, with Mr Dawson’s delving into informal comms channels, yet the headline is from DRoss doing the accusing and crossing wires. Quelle surprise..
Implication and innuendo are doing all the heavy lifting in this piece, doubtless it will run for days with yet more disconnected connections.

Spot on Bob.
Where there is REAL trouble for Tory HQ being reported via English Media there then must be an equivalence concocted via the reporting of the Scottish (INO) media upon the SNP too….. as there can never appear to be a higher standard or distinction ever assumed to exist via those we elect in Scotland to govern us……all done to overshadow all of the Cr*p done by t’others and thus dominate the headlines here in Scotland to try to obscure and protect those who should instead be the ones that dominate all of the media everywhere to highlight the fact that they are the real baddies ……instead we get, via the media here , a concerted effort in their various attempts to con voters in Scotland into believing that the SNP are no different from others …..as in what many a misinformed voter may think or say i.e. “They’re all the same” ……..

While opposition parties and mainstream media politicise the Scottish covid inquiry, this Talking-Up Scotland article is a reminder of the double standards of the same opposition parties and mainstream media.
“Scottish Labour demand a Covid inquiry but Welsh Labour won’t have one and won’t even co-operate with the UK ‘gold standard’ one”

The Westminster behaviour is being well documented. They cannot get out of that. Scottish Gov managed the pandemic better with the limited powers at their disposal. Johnston followed Nicola’s advice on masks etc. Johnstone did not shut down on time causing more deaths etc.
Murdoch is a non Dom tax evading Press owner. Right wing bigot. Phone tapping, illegal surveillance. Bribing public officials. The Leveson recommendation not enforced.
The Tories are toast.
