Latest full poll has SNP Holyrood lead solid and Labour stuck

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_next_Scottish_Parliament_election

YouGov poll published today for 2-6 October 2023, has a 9 point lead for the SNP and Labour struggling to creep above the 30% share.

Looking more meaningfully at the averages for the last two blocks of 5 polls, we see the SNP average for the last 5 from mid-September and the lead over Labour were 38% and 9.4.

For the previous 5 polls from 1-2 July to 2-4 September, despite the media carpet bombing, the SNP support was 38% but the lead over Labour was only 6.2.

So, SNP support stable through difficult days and Labour not able to close gap.

  2. Will this be another poll consigned to a similar fate as those other polls that show an SNP lead…..as in NOT being highlighted in the ‘News where we are but really tis the news as dictated by others’ as in those others who choose to promote and support other political parties and too the UK being sustained…..indeed tis also a similar fate on those polls that show YES leading or increasing which receive NO prominence via the BBC here or indeed significance against any supposed lead or increase in the NO side being celebrated and promoted by that same BBC Scotland (INO)……for reasons too obvious to mention.

  3. Humza Yousaf looks to be getting the SNP back on course, another onslaught from the opposition and media fizzling out with the SNP increasing its lead as the Westminster parties continue to implode.
The next poll will include the recent revelations that, when it came to the crunch, Boris Johnson and his cabinet placed UK Government superiority in the union above the freedom of the devolved governments to manage the health and lives of the people in their countries.
It also contained the chilling prediction that if another major event or pandemic occured Westminster would take back total control – with the power to write and rewrite the law as deemed necessary outwith the control of any parliament.
The suspicion that the Scottish Government, health service, police and other public services were not only fighting the pandemic but the obstructive attitude of the UK Government has been confirmed.

  4. Breaking news that WILL dominate all MSM output for what will be a LONG LONG time : Lisa Cameron , who was about to be dumped by the SNP, has jumped BEFORE she was pushed , and has now joined the ….TORY party….LOL…..she cited…wait for it….her reason being because of the ” toxic and bullying” treatment within the SNP…..thus she has decided the Tory party are THE ones who are….NON toxic and NON bullying ??????……well seems someone is taking their revenge a tad TOO far…..in fact to join the Tory party while in a Scottish seat might be a tactic that could advantage New New Labour more in Scotland than her new preferred party as in the Tories….obviously she has NOT been paying attention to all the Tories have done since 2010 as the UK government ……..if her mental health has, as she states, being affected then trust me the mental health of many many more has been affected by the TORY party’s terrible policies ,bad decisions and harmful rhetoric…..and if as she says she was “shunned” by other SNP politicians then her now decision to join the Tory party might be a clue as to why that may have been……

Surely if this has been so traumatic for her then would it not have been better for her mental health to just stand down than to defect to the TORY party…..which many may see as a frying pan to fire event if she is to be believed and seen as credible as in who, via party, she has chosen to defect to…as in the party we in Scotland NEVER vote for via a majority……for obvious reasons that seemingly are NOT as obvious to her.

So if mental health is to be now the MSM ‘GO TO’ story….what then of the accusations made by Emma walker on HER mental Health being impacted while in the Lib Dems ?

You know sometimes you could not make it up…but seems some DO for reasons that may NOT be the ones they present as the REAL reasons…..so it has taken since 2015 to 2023 ,via her time as an SNP MP, and too very much her selection as candidate in the next GE being challenged in her constituency, as her perhaps NOT being the candidate selected to stand for the SNP, to then see her NOW state her reason for leaving the SNP was because that she was treated so very badly in the party that she was ELECTED to represent to then choose to jump ship to a party, as in the Tories, that most people now view as actually toxic and who ,as a party, have had more than their fair share of “bullying” stories written about them …..seems a strange and self defeating career move yet tactically for her a selfish one too….that will NOT benefit the Tories or her but may benefit the New New Labour party in Scotland…as timing is EVERYTHING in politics.

    1. Wow that is a jump, I don’t think I have heard of her before, she must have kept quiet, until now? Makes you question some folks’ authenticity
in representing the party for which they were elected and take a massive sum of public money…does she still get to take a huge sum of public money?
She’d need to prove that she has been bullied, though the media will take her word on it as gospel of course. Looked her up, the meediah are on a high, they are dining out on it of course.
And you are correct Gavin, the Tories do cause a heck of a lot of people to suffer from mental health problems, even some people have sadly killed themselves because of Tory austerity etc. That is going to get worse and will be no better with LabourCons in power at WM, very possibly worse for Scotalnd because they will punish Scotland for daring to vote for their own countrys’ best interests, via the SNP.

    2. Rather than face the personal humiliation of deselection, she went with the party about to be dumped, so that when she loses the seat it’s not about her.

  5. The ONLY news that will be shouted from the colonial media rooftops, will not be a pro-SNP poll, but a lemming MP jumping over the cliff, without a bungy rope.

Will Glenn or Tom ask what faction of the Toadie party will she join?
    Is she a Trussite?
    A Rishi groupie?
Perhaps a DRossie fan (before he gets the boot)?
Perhaps Boris has whispered into her shell-like?
(El Grosso Porco has an very odd effect on gullible females).

  6. As an addition to my above comment on Lisa Cameron….

A source from The SNP described her claim of ostracism as “entirely fictitious” and stated that she has not been “victimised or ostracised” but that she has shown “zero interest in anything to do with the SNP group”…..and that it is “amazing that this has now only come to light now that she is facing a reselection “. (agree tis NOT amazing in them highlighting the timing of her decision thus this then tis more a tactical manoeuvre via her to save face amidst her possible deselection being imminent)

Stephen Flynn the leader of the SNP at WM said “this did not reflect his experience of the situation” saying he had dinner with her in the previous weeks, a dinner she denied she had been invited to.

The local SNP branch had received complaints on her conduct over the past “six or seven years” citing also the official motion to have her removed in 2019. They also objected to her taking so many tax payer funded overseas trips.

On the 12 October THIS year , on the day votes were due to be counted on her selection contest, Cameron left the SNP to sit as a Tory MP.

This then is NOT a NEW story but indeed an ongoing saga that only has broken as a BIG story because of the action she has finally taken i.e. defecting to the Tory party.

As to how this will be framed by the media as an action will be perhaps the predictable outcome we have all come to expect via the MSM…..as in what will be highlighted and what will be omitted and ultimately whose side will they, the media, choose to champion and promote as the victim and whose side they will choose to demonise and promote as the culprits aka baddies……while Labour will do their utmost to capitalise on this situation…even dare I say promoting yet again the SNP as yellow Tories in all but party name via Lisa Cameron’s inexplicable decision to choose the Tory party as her natural home as an MP as opposed to her accepting her being deselected and thus not standing as candidate in the next GE…..they will also try to reiterate the media’s promotion of the SNP collapsing as a party in Scotland.

Politics is indeed a very dirty business and at times like this there is indeed many who will not mind getting THEIR hands very dirty to gain an undeserved political advantage over the SNP ….seems that they view their own parties as those deserving to sit on a self appointed moral high horse , who then feel entitled to cast aspersions on what they say are the failings of others while conveniently they themselves have nothing to be proud of via their ” gutter politics” behaviour that they think will win over the voters…same voters who may be oblivious to who they truly are and what they truly represent as a political party.

  7. Just seen a Tweet from one of the more assumed liberal minded popular Pro remain peeps as in Otto English which was as follows :

“While I understand why Lisa Cameron has left the SNP I can’t grasp why on Earth she’s gone to the Tories. What happened there? Can someone please explain”?

So Otto “understands why Lisa Cameron left the SNP” yet he also asks “What happened there” ? and seeks someone to “please explain”……as to why she left the SNP to go to the Tories…..so what is it that HE understands about her decision to leave the SNP Hmm….see he is yet another one who opposes the Tory party while many a time favouring those from the Labour party like some others I could mention…..yet he only seems to ‘dip his toe’ into Scottish politics when tis something promoted as controversial that is linked to the SNP …..so he is pretty much similar to many of those other political pundits from down south…. who like to tell us, in Scotland, what is better for us politically and too what their position is on what happening within Scotland while really they are all clueless as to what’s REALLY happening within Scotland and too within Scottish politics ……yet are spot on via what they see as happening in England via the Tories….which is natural as they do live in England…..and thus THAT is their main 24/7 concern.

God knows what answers he has received as I am not on twitter so cannot view the responses and thus can only see the first three highlighted tweets, by him, on his Twitter account but I wonder how many WRONG assumptions he will get in way of responses to his Q…..and which responses he will be only TOO willing to accept at face value ………we truly are at the stage of Infamy Infamy….they have all got it in for me ( or rather all got it in for the SNP)……LOL

  8. Lets face two facts
    1. Rightly or wrongly, fairly or not, Lisa Cameron’s political career is at an end. Deselection would probably have done this, but she’s made 10000% sure
    2. Given that deselection would have ended her career involuntarily, it is perhaps no surprise that she decided to leave the group. That though does not necessitate going as far as joining the Tories. The lady might be upset, but THAT upset. Why not spend the next year as an independent as Margaret Ferrier did? Who among the Scottish Tories does she find particularly attractive – Ross? Jack? Bowie? Takes all types I suppose. Maybe there’s something in reports theTories have promised her ennoblement to the House of the Living Dead. If this happens, it will not be to her credit. “Carpet Bagger” wont quite do it. We’ll see.
