Jackie Baillie’s disgusting hypocrisy on emergency services
Our emergency services do a fantastic job of keeping us safe. It’s fitting that on #999Day, emergency services from across West Dunbartonshire are holding a special free family fun day today at Levengrove Park in Dumbarton. It’s on between 12pm and 4pm. All welcome. @999Daypic.twitter.com/P3P1c93bNq
Today, it’s all unconvincing messages of support for Scotland’s emergency services.
On 30 March 2021, it was this:
Our NHS needs people to fight for it. I will always fight passionately for the Vale of Leven hospital, because it’s our hospital. #BBCLeadersDebatepic.twitter.com/wz0fSgRRda
In a video posted to Twitter, Baillie says she will do “everything I can” to protect services at the Vale of Leven. The video opens by saying that there has been a “lot of fear and anxiety” caused by the loss of the A&E at the hospital, but makes no mention of the fact that it was a Labour government which had overseen its removal.

You should be made aware Prof that this is only one a series of such ‘family days’. We had ours weeks ago, so Jackie is slow off the mark and an upcoming by-election is of course a coincidence. Visit, and you will find ‘all our wonderful services’ draped in Union Jacks. A cynical person might think of this as subliminal advertising for ‘our precious Union’, on behalf of….?
The competition to be the biggest fanny at Holyrood is always a hard-fought one. However, Jackie Baillie is Labour’s equivalent of Murdo Fraser – she will always make the final short list.
The Vale of Leven Hospital is one mile from my home in Balloch. She has been using it as a political football for her whole career in politics. This despite she and her party being responsible for it’s decline,
The hospital was built in the 1950s. A large maternity hospital was added in 1970. In the 1970s the population of the Vale increased dramatically, with the building of the Glasgow overspill housing on Bonhill’s hillside estates.
A few years ago the maternity hospital was closed and many services were removed from the general hospital including A&E. People from the Vale now have to travel to the RAH or the QEUU. It’s a shocking state of affairs and she, despite claiming the contrary, has presided over it.
Wow, that image with butchers apron in the middle, what a damn cheek the EngGov have given they not only deny frontline workers a decent wage rise and therefore don’t care that the workers go on strike, they also want to ban workers from going on strike, the EngGov had everyone clapping for NHS workers during the pandemic, what utter utter hypocrites.
People in England do not have a good ‘service’ when it comes to their NHS including emergencies, all because their government are deliberately running it down to finalise the privatisation of the whole system.
The gas lighting by the EngGov is utterly insulting, akin to kicking the frontline/emergency workers while saying we value your work we really do lol lol lol!
EngGov are going full on fascist, removing the right to strike/protest etc, and forcing English/BritNat patriotism on the people.
Scotland needs the heck away.
