Rutherglen & Hamilton West candidate points to Labour weakness in protecting locals

From SNP Media today:

Marking four weeks until polling day in Rutherglen and Hamilton West, SNP candidate Katy Loudon has said that “only the SNP will stand against Labour weakness and Tory cuts at Westminster.”

On a visit to the Blantyre Thistle Credit Union to speak to staff and customers about the impact of Westminster’s cost of living crisis, Katy Loudon praised the First Minister’s actions to tackle poverty, but warned with both Labour and the Tories committed to imposing austerity and a damaging Brexit upon Scotland, neither can be trusted to stand up for communities in Scotland.

Commenting, SNP candidate Katy Loudon said:

“In the same week as we’ve seen a bold and progressive agenda set by the First Minister to reduce poverty and help people through this cost of living crisis, we’ve seen a return to business as usual with both Labour and the Tories joined at the hip on key economic policies.

“Westminster parties don’t offer anything but more austerity and hardship for the people of Rutherglen and Hamilton West, and both Labour and the Tories are trying to sabotage the work being done in Scotland to support vulnerable communities and combat Westminster’s cost of living crisis.

“Voting SNP in Rutherglen and Hamilton West is a vote to to truly reject Tory and Labour policies, which are now one and the same, and a vote for an alternative to the broken Westminster system – independence for Scotland.

“Only the SNP will stand against Labour weakness and Tory cuts, and will stand up for the issues that matter to people here – our NHS, our economy, our schools, and tackling the cost of living crisis. I’ll be proud to fight for these priorities in the House of Commons.”

You better watch out…..Jackie Baillie will be accusing her, Katy, (and YOU) of indulging in “gutter politics”…..I mean do the SNP not know that “Gutter politics” is THE speciality of Jackie Baillie and her Labour party and thus tis only they who can indulge (frequently) in wallowing within it’s murky depths…..as in a ‘it takes one to know one’ kinda way….

Scotland apparently NEEDS to GET with THE programme that is Pro UK….where, apparently, we need to listen to THEM while they can keep IGNORING us….they’ll tell us what we WANT…..what we really really WANT …… (Hey if Michelle Mone can quote the lyrics of a Whitney Houston song in HER maiden speech in the HOL then I can quote a line from a Spice Girls song…)…..unfortunately what we in Scotland really NEED and really WANT is not what they, Labour and t’other parties, THINK that we NEED and WANT or DESERVE……or even what they are ever willing to DELIVER to us….hence why our requirements and expectations , unique to us alone, are never ever met or fulfilled by THEM as a UK government (or UK opposition party(s)) while we are STILL a part of THEIR UK…….simples really…tis only THEM who try and make it MORE complicated….for reasons all too obvious.

  2. John,
O/T I just wonder with all the stories regarding RAAC at the moment I was thinking would it be a disaster if by chance if it was used in part to build the SP Donald Dewar’s pet project and it had to be closed would this be presented as an SNP bad story.
    Your thoughts.
