A reminder on access to free NHS dentistry in Scotland:

95.4% of the Scottish population were registered with an NHS dentist as at 30 September 2022. Nearly all adults living in the most deprived areas were registered with an NHS dentist in September 2022, compared to 91.9% in the least deprived areas.

Jackie Baillie – “Nearly all? Nearly!? It won’t do!”

Meanwhile in England:

Thousands of children in England facing ‘heartbreaking’ waits for NHS dental care

Labour comment on the above? Nope. Not a word.

  1. Appointments for check-up flagged up by text or other methods. Excellent. Cap teeth now available instead of losing them.

£25 child benefit for toothpaste etc. More brushing of teeth and healthy food. Keeps the cavities away. Shiny happy teeth. Shiny happy people. Less teeth ache or infection,

  2. The rogue media , as in GB News and Talk TV, are noting the terrible state of NHS dentistry in England …..but they talk as if tis others to blame as opposed to the Tories…meanwhile, as per, their combined condemnation of the Scottish NHS as a NON fact….via their own and too uninformed (clueless) guests opinions, speculation and too their neglecting to produce and present actual evidential data and comparisons with other nations within their UK….is one that, as per, according to them …..always results in leading them, as a fake media, directly to the door of the SNP, as in they, as the Scottish government being totally to blame…..how very partisan of them all.

If tis anything but anything that is related to Scotland via the so called media (fake and MSM…same thing really) then it cannot be reported upon unless certain words , such as the following , are added as either a prefix or a suffix….as in , if upon public services or decisions, then the GO TO ‘Fall guys’ for both the media and the opposition parties must always be promoted as being the SNP…..

“Failing”….”Fiasco”….”crisis”….”controversial”…..and too other negative undeserved prefixes/suffixes to promote negativity against the SNP and thus diminish support for the SNP in Scotland…..

Meanwhile in England and Wales….there is always a multitude of external circumstance scapegoats who can be used to excuse the failings of those other two nations, England and Wales, thus their governments are given a succession of ‘Free passes” for their many failures…..via the media and t’others….

Jackie Baillie is on a mission….but “nearly all” (but really should be “all”) of her efforts to diss the SNP are failing…..as the reality is , that we as a country, are NOT in total control of ALL powers and money as we are not INDEPENDENT but unfortunately still a part of HER beloved UK….and her party in Wales are the actual ones who need MORE attention and support via her and her party as they seem to be the lagging behind Scotland via the data produced on NHS performance figures re the respective nations within their UK….and I suspect upon other matter too….though the media tend to neglect Labour’s failing in Wales…for reasons and too with ONE constitutional distinction with Scotland…both being too obvious to note..as reasons and as a distinction….

Time Ms Baillie took a day off from playing ‘Party Politics” in Scotland and cast her eye over what her HQ are getting up to…..as in morphing into the new Brexit TORY party….oh and she could and should also think about imparting her self assumed ‘wisdom’ and (non) ‘solutions’ to her failing colleagues in Wales…..and too the direction her HQ party seem to be heading….as in towards the RIGHT hence why we in Scotland should really see them, as a party, as being WRONG…for us and our country….

  3. Re PFI ‘buy back’ deals to cost taxpayer millions

New Craigs Psychiatric Hospital in Inverness cost £16.5 million to build but under Labour in the early 2000s cost the tax payer over £100 million through PPE contracts.

Elsewhere, NHS Highland will have to pay a £3m fee to take over New Craigs Hospital in Inverness when its PFI deal ends in 2025.

As Rhoda Grant who has been a Labour MSP since the opening of the SP and is always on about the waste of money on the Ferries and shouting about the A9 being upgraded regrates all the waste of money on PFIs…..no chance its all the SNPs fault

  4. There are warnings of thunderstorms in parts of Scotland today.

Although there have been no thunderstorms in Glasgow’s South Side, there have been several heavy downpours.

Only in June STV and BBC Scotland jinxed Scotland’s summer by warning their viewers of severe water shortages.

The heavy downpours today reminded me of flooding in parts of the South Side in the past.

The reason why it is in the past is because of this achievement. 👇

    https://www.mgsdp.org/index.aspx?articleid=21107

“Scottish Water’s flagship Shieldhall Tunnel project, in the south of Glasgow, is the biggest waste water tunnel ever to be built in Scotland.

The £100m tunnel, which enables Scottish Water to improve water quality in the River Clyde and reduce flooding issues at key locations, is, at 3.1 miles long, five times longer than the Clyde Tunnel.

The tunnel was constructed using a specially designed, 1000 tonne, 180-metre-long, tunnel boring machine, and at 4.7 metres in diameter is big enough to fit a double decker bus inside

Tunnelling started in July 2016 and was completed in early spring 2018. The project was formally completed and operational in July 2018.

The tunnel route was carefully selected to minimise disruption, and runs from Craigton Industrial Estate, under the Glasgow Paisley Canal railway line and the M77, under Bellahouston Park, Pollok Park, along Titwood Road to Queen’s Park where a newly-installed flume connects the tunnel to the existing sewer network.”

    1. Aye, but you can be sure a media report will along shortly on nothing being done to improve the Victorian sewerage network, and X “Olympic sized pools of raw sewage being discharged” etc etc….

Sheildhall Tunnel is effectively a colossal off-stream storage tank – With no space available at ground level to construct such monstrous capacity, a tunnel was the only viable solution – Only when it’s 90,000 cubic metre capacity is exceeded can a CSO even begin to discharge on the original sewer network.

Although the headline is that it solved historic flooding problem, we tend to forget the misery it brought to so many residents when the cludgie backed up…
The ST is there 24/7, silently working away unseen no matter the intensity of rain…
