The Herald, rehashing a Daily Mail story, is claiming:
Rickets cases 700 per cent higher in Scotland than England. Cases of a disease that was prevalent in the slums of Victorian-era Britain are 700% higher in Scotland than in England, according to figures.

The ‘research’ finds more cases of rickets in Scotland than in England despite the latter having 10 times the population, huge areas of urban deprivation and twice the ethnic diversity, which linked to lower Vitamin D absorption, can the make condition more common.
It’s just not plausible and a responsible journalist would know that. Just as with hospital-acquired Covid largely unrecorded in England and various attempts to minimise or just ignore various waiting times failures, what this suggests most strongly is that English health trusts are just not bothering with this.

But, via The Herald, an irresponsible journalist’s job is to make it seem plausible….though being irresponsible is not confined to only those journalists in The Herald….as a fact that is blatantly obvious and too now very plausible to many…… considering what we, in Scotland, are subjected to via the so called media who supposedly report “The news where we are” but actually do not….they are also not that responsible or plausible in reporting news from elsewhere either…..
A cross we all here in Scotland must bear as long as we are still within their UK….though in this instance tis not, as a situation, one that cannot be changed

England is far more concerned with the failure of the Lionesses than rickets return.
The England woman’s team were a bit fortunate to make the finals, given their struggles in previous rounds, only to be well beaten by a good Spanish team.
England’s King Charlie, the English Prince of Wales and the English Prime Minister and his Red Tory counterpart all sent their commiserations.
Rishi would be needing a wee rest after his hols in America, and Shir Keir Starman* was busy gas-lighting Scotland.
None of the above could be bothered to attend, saving us a fortune in ‘plane fares.
BEEB England (all the BEEB) however, sent an army out to the land of Oz , though they still had dozens left over to cover English cricket, football, athletics, rugby etc, on TV, radio and on-line.
