I saw something similar in a recent documentary where a charity in Barrow on Furness had escape bags for women fleeing domestic abuse. They were large with space for clothes, pyjamas and all sorts of essentials like these:

These wee handbags don’t look much use but if they’re sure, did Jackie consider asking Shadow Chancellor, Rachel Reeves to donate the £1,250 handbag and contents she got ’for giving a talk to an investors forum’ run by a multimillionaire?
‘No case for banker tax’ Reeves accepting £1250 handbag from investors is tip of iceberg
While we’re on domestic violence:
From the ONS, for England & Wales
The police flagged 912,181 recorded offences as domestic abuse-related in the year ending June 2022. This represented a 14% increase from 798,607 offences in the year ending March 2020. This included 723,164 violence against the person offences flagged as domestic abuse-related, a 15% increase compared with the year ending March 2020. Some of this continued increase may reflect improvements seen in recording and reporting over the last few years.https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/crimeandjustice/bulletins/crimeinenglandandwales/yearendingjune2022#domestic-abuse-and-sexual-offences
That represents 1 incident for every 65 people in England and Wales. Tragically, some will feature in repeated incidents.
From the Police Service of Northern Ireland:
In the 12 months from 1st July 2021 to 30th June 2022 there were 33,186 domestic abuse incidents in Northern
Ireland, an increase of 2,026 (6.5 per cent) on the previous 12 months.https://www.psni.police.uk/sites/default/files/2022-09/domestic-abuse-bulletin-jun_-22_0.pdf
That represents 1 incident for every 57 people, a higher level than in England & Wales.
From the Scottish Government’s statistics section today:
The police recorded 64,807 incidents of domestic abuse in 2021-22, a decrease of 1% compared to the previous year. This is the first year this figure has shown a decrease since 2015-16.https://www.gov.scot/binaries/content/documents/govscot/publications/statistics/2022/11/domestic-abuse-recorded-police-scotland-2021-22/documents/domestic-abuse-recorded-police-scotland-2021-22/domestic-abuse-recorded-police-scotland-2021-22/govscot%3Adocument/domestic-abuse-recorded-police-scotland-2021-22.pdf
That represents 1 incident for every 84 people, a significantly lower level than in England & Wales or in Northern Ireland.
I appreciate that there can be problems with comparing crime rates but where policing and background cultures are so alike, there are at the very least questions to be asked about the effects of political actions in the preceding years.
Scotland’s media are not interested.

Did no one at the Women’s Aid shop ask Damn Jackie why her Party does not support women by promising to revoke the Two-Child Benefit clause ?
Would weekly benefit from the State , perhaps , negate the need for funds from a handbags donation drive ? And no photo-op for her Damness !

Is this the same Labour party, operating as a colonial branch office in Scotland, as Ian “Ye’ll git a doin'” Davidson belongs to?
The same Labour party (etc) which has put forward as a parliamentary candidate a man who made……….
“deeply sexualised and racist” remarks about a 15 year old girl?
Yup, and I would bet “Dame” Whacky would “defend their right to say it”!

Women do not have equal rights. Instead of stuffing handbags change the Law.
Women who co habit, the majority of women, do not have equal rights. Married women automatically get half. Women who co habit have toput in a claim(1/3), within a year. It cost £thousands and can take years. There is little legal aid. It has to be paid back in any case.
Women and children have to stay in unsafe, abusive place because they do not have equal rights. They can lose their house, their home. Be left without a roof over their heads because they do not have equal rights.
Letting agencies, illegally. charge women 6months up front rent + deposit. Even with excellent credit. Solicitors breaking the Law.
The Law has been changed, recently, in England so abused women can get legal aid without losing their home. Or the roof over their heads.
A Domestic Abuse Act that cannot be dropped or appealed. Police are illegally arresting and charging abused women and vulnerable people. Not following proper procedures. Dragging them through Court. Innocent people found not guilty. A total waste of time and monies.
The Police responsibility to train officers properly. Investigate then arrest. Not arrest and then investigate. Wasting £Billions of public monies. Criminalising innocent people.
Change the Law. It is the 21st century. Some politicians should try and keep up. To prevent abuse and possible violence. Keep vulnerable women out of unsafe places.
