From the 1st to the 3rd August 2023, CalMac ferries have been operating at 97.99% reliability, across up 520 sailings a day, by 33 vessels, to more than 50 ports.
The few cancellations have mostly been on the Ardrossan to Campbelltown sailings where it is actually quicker to do the journey from Glasgow to Campbelltown by road.
How are things in that advanced affluent nation, Canada, where BC Ferries operate in calmer, warmer waters than CalMac?

Talking-up Scotland 'Albatraz' 
A levy could be raised from tourists who use these ferries in the Summer months in the same way as is being considered for other locations and services in Scotland.
This might go some way to fund the required infrastructure renewal.
Otherwise,Scottish tax payers will have to continue to foot the bill.

Why is BBC Scotland not reporting these figures oh I forget its good news and that does not suit their narrative there will soon be a story from them about the late ferries and the extra cost.

Sorry Scott, but without an “SNP Scandal”, “Ferry Chaos” or “Pidgeon droppings” angle, it is really not very newsworthy for the Herald.
But wait, did Douglas Barrowman ever trial for Rangers? We could have a lead story there.

Aye Scott…..and a very LONG investigation by the Met and too a very LONG silence from many of the Tory friendly newspapers upon this matter…and tis also a very LONG time since she , the Baroness, was in the HOL’s as a TORY Peer…..David Cameron appointed her , when he was the PM, as one supposed to be their, Tory government’s, new entrepreneurship Tsar for areas of high unemployment……
How did that go then ?……..well the scheme was supposed to encourage disadvantaged people in areas of high unemployment to start companies…..but her appointment to this role resulted in some business chiefs protesting against her being hired to do this by the Tory government, with one saying “There is no way she is qualified to advise anybody on setting up a profitable business, because, quite simply, she hasn’t”…..the report she was supposed to complete was then published in 2016…ironically just BEFORE Brexit…oops…..
I have not read it but wonder whether it included corny aspirational quotes such ‘Be all you can be”….”love yourself first then everyone else will love you”…”If you have a big dream then you can do it”…..and also whether she included lyrics from the song she used in her maiden speech in the HOL….from the Whitney Houston song “Greatest love of all”…..or maybe she chose lyrics from other songs like “Money” by Pink Floyd , “Material Girl” by Madonna OR perhaps in relation to the PPE scandal allegedly linked to her and too her elevation to the HOL’s post her appointment by David Cameron as Entrepreneur tsar….then ‘Money for Nothing’ by Dire Straits might be most apt to include in her report as lyrics that she chose to quote……or perhaps a minion wrote up the report….minus song lyrics obvs
