Shadow Health Secretary accepts Health Secretary’s right to pass the buck for complete failure

Did you think for even a second or two that headline might refer to Scotland.

BBC Wales today:

There is “no question” the public will feel the impact of cuts on the NHS in Wales, the country’s [Labour] health minister has warned.

Eluned Morgan [Labour] said health boards are going to find it “very difficult” to make the savings they need to.

The Welsh government has told them they need to find the savings to counter overspending.

There is not a word from His Majesty’s opposition (Conservative) in the BBC Wales report.

Imagine, just imagine, that was in Scotland?

On 13 November 2022, BBC Scotland had:

Humza Yousaf: I don’t have more money for NHS pay deals

In just this one report, we see:

Scottish Conservative health spokesman Dr Sandesh Gulhane warned frontline NHS staff were “facing some of the worst conditions in living memory”.

He added: “Humza Yousaf says he is listening to our frontline healthcare workers and has promised to listen to social care staff over his misguided National Care Service plans – yet if he was, we wouldn’t be facing catastrophic strikes and the National Care Service would be scrapped.”

And Scottish Labour health spokeswoman Jackie Baillie said Mr Yousaf had “lost the confidence of health workers”.

She added: “The health secretary is hopelessly out of his depth, unable to provide basic information on when he’ll next meet with the unions to avert strike action and what contingency plans are in place, if the strikes go ahead.”

You know by now that the above is not a one-off but consistent practice, unique to Scotland, of politicising public service issues.

  1. Damn Jackie Baillie and brylecreem Gulhane immediately reach for their Big Book of Political Criticisms whenever a Scottish Health Minister speaks – even if they are just saying ”Good morning ! ”
They give no thought to being constructive or positive – all their invective is directed at the SG Government , regardless of the situation .
They are the Holyrood equivalents of the Muppets Statler and Waldorf – but without their charm , humour and humanity .

  2. Wales is underfunded. The unionists go along with it. People in Wales voted for Brexit losing £Billions because of unionist lies. People in Wales will have to vote for Independence or keep on being shafted by Westminster and unionist Parties. An increase in support for Independence parties will improve the Welsh economy. Instead of the monies wasted by unionists at Westminster.

Scotland got Devolution after voting for it. Delayed 20 years by Tories. People who support Independence in Scotland need to go out and vote for Independence Parties. Why people who support Independence in Scotland vote for Unionist Parties is a mystery. The unionist Parties do not support Independence. Not very smart. Get out and votes higher turnout.

  3. BBC Wales dare not stray from being “impartial” even if instructed to do so – Even were R.T.D.2 Davies asked for comment, he’d respectfully decline – Welsh public fury over RTD2 winding up the normally mild-mannered Drakeford to the point of apoplexy over hospital/ambulance waiting times sent R.T.D.2 out into the public wilderness and has never been forgotten by the Welsh.
BBC Scotland established it’s public wilderness back in Sarah Smith’s time and now features a large roundabout, a coo-brain, a tailor’s dummy, and an obvious political agenda…
