Scottish Water not accused of under-reporting pollution or over-charging customers.

From BBC Business this morning:

The UK’s six biggest water firms are facing legal action over claims they underreported pollution and overcharged customers. Severn Trent is the first in line, with claims against the other firms expected in the coming months.

BBC Breakfast were more precise making clear that these were all English water firms and BBC Scotland had no comment to make in the light of their reporting with all of the MSM in Scotland, in May 2023, when they warned us:

Scotland shockingly behind England in monitoring sewage releases!

We soon discovered that Scotland monitors fewer flood drains because their is no point in wasting money doing so for the many around our enormous coastline which we know for sure don’t pollute.

  1. Scottish Water polluted by association with the English privatised companies , ScotRail derailed by association with English privatised companies , Scottish NHS infected by association with slowly privatised English Health Trusts …..spot the pattern !

  2. That’s right James mills , spot on , English propaganda trying to bring Scotland down and let’s be clear about this , English people vote for this they know exactly what their government in Westminster is doing, they will do anything to keep control of Scotland.Look at Northern Ireland and how Englands control there has reduced it to a place with no government , it’s parliament unattended by politicians who do no governing but still collect their huge salaries.

  4. It’s mainly a cosmetic exercise to show DEFRA “getting tough” as they’re almost certain to (yet again) lose their latest Court appearance on failure to regulate.
Fines are built into the all of the English water company business models, they don’t lose a bean, the customer pays for it.

Scotland’s discharges to sea are regularly monitored the inspectorates of SW and SEPA, with the public and fishing/farming communities helpfully reporting any unusual events or what the inspectorate didn’t see, all working collaboratively and remarkably well.
For sure with changing rainfall patterns triggering otherwise dormant discharges there are unusual events to which SW and SEPA respond, but these are not remotely close to the problems England is struggling with, despite the media’s distraction game in Scotland to imply it is.
