From Scotland’s Chief Statistician on 1 August 2023, published statistics on Police Officer Quarterly Strength, which gives the number of full-time equivalent police officers employed by Police Scotland:
The key findings of the statistics are:
- there were 16,600 full-time equivalent (FTE) police officers in Scotland on 30 June 2023
- police officer numbers decreased by 15 FTE officers (-0.1%) in the last quarter from 31 March 2023
- police officer numbers decreased by 11 FTE officers (-0.1%) in the last year from 30 June 2022
- this is an increase of 366 FTE police officers (+2.3%) from the 16,234 FTE police officers recorded at 31 March 2007
So, more police officers than under Labour yet with only just over half the crime rate.
Some folk would never know this.
Makes you wonder why Scotland’s MSM don’t seem to like this story as much as drug deaths.

Guaranteed to be buried…..like every positive policy and initiative connected to our government…..the fact that the media and opposition have to revisit the same #SNPBAD stories time and time again….that they, as a collective opposition, all over emphasise and present as if tis unique to the SNP alone….to fool those voters who seem less inclined to notice the flaws, incompetence and deception of both the opposition parties and their media…..
One would think that as a voter you could at least do some research as to the substance of the stories generated against the SNP….and too be more observant and aware of what the opposition parties are doing….not doing….and intend to do….before you cast your vote…..it should also seem obvious the role the media play in politics and too who they support and oppose politically……and that they, as a media, play their part in trying to influence opinion as opposed to reflecting them within Scotland.
If we are really focusing on Police forces and their performance and crime statistics then I would suggest that the MET police are an example of one that is failing……Knife crime in England, more so London, is shockingly high and the response to it is not working….scandals connected to MET police officers is one that has also shocked many people but has not impacted the respective UK government minister who, in England, is in charge of the Police …where as in Scotland , via a Public Health approach, knife crime has decreased…..but that is another good initiative that has fallen by the wayside as far as any kudos being given to the Scottish government is concerned….indeed had it, Knife crime, been similar to England’s high stats then the opposition and media would have been asking for OUR respective minister to resign.
I think we all know who is failing as far as governments within the UK is concerned….and where there is any improved or better stats connected to OUR government then they are the ones deemed to be not publicised or commended…..all the opposition and their media want to do is to try and convince voters , via promoting a continuation of #SNPBAD stories , that they as a party and government are failing us the people…..the reality is….they are doing extraordinarily well under extreme pressure and with limited finances/powers and too up against a hostile UK government and media.
Our government is judged as if they run an independent country…they do not…and that is the rub…..and that is what voters should realise and also they should recognise who it is that holds them, our government, back and prevents them from doing so much more ……but that KEY fact seems as yet not to have been acknowledged by those voters who still vote for other parties…as in those other parties whose motivation is more driven by ensuring we remain subservient to their UK and whoever governs it than supporting and encouraging our country and our government to be a success…..hence why independence is the ONLY solution for us.

They won’t believe it but it doesn’t stop me sharing it on Twitter. Statistics like this really annoy some unionists – it’s as if they don’t actually want anything good happening in their own country.

I see the unionist nationalist britnats are out in Glasgow complaining that local businesses on the roads closed to traffic to allow the UCI World Cycling Championships to take place have not had so many customers , a taxi driver also complained that some roads were inaccessible by him , well I guess we could have kept the roads open to please the unionist nationalist britnats if we were prepared for hundreds of cyclists in the World Championships to race against oncoming traffic risking their lives or severe injury BUT we decided sensibly that nationalist britnat unionists are just plain crazy idiots so we opted for safety fun and one of the greatest cycling races ever seen, well done Van de Poel .
The nationalist britnat unionists complaining in STV and in the Glasgow Express of course blame SNP , haha just shows how thick they are.
