Scotland’s A&E 15% faster to see thousands quicker

From Public Health Scotland today, full Emergency Departments (ED) saw 69% of admissions within 4 hours in June 2023. This was the third consequent improvement in three months.

From NHS England for the same period, full Emergency Departments (Type 1) saw 60.2% within 4 hours. This was the third consequent worsening of performance in three months.

NHS Scotland’s A&E is thus performing 14.6% (8.8% of 60.2) faster, with consequently, thousands more seen within 4 hours than would have been the case had they lived in England.

  1. Again utterly false.

The equivalent for NHS England is 73.3% which beats Scotlands 69.0%.

What you’re doing, for the 3rd month in a row, is comparing the 4 hour performance for ALL admissions in Scotland with ONLY the most serious admissions in England.

The correct data is literally in the link you provided, you’ve actively ignored it and instead opted to use incorrect data because it provides a story you like.

Journalist integrity of a ham sandwich.
