So, 4 hours after I awake to discover I’m banned from r/Scotland.
I’m not aware of any notification of an explanation. I would have expected an email but, hey, maybe I’m old-fashioned.
However, here’s the justification:

So, they’re talking about the satirical spoof/mock-ups of the BBC website that I’ve been posting for years now on Twitter and FB with no warning far less banning and no complaints even from the BBC.
Is satire not allowed on Reddit?
Here are their published rules:

Are they using the editorialising criterion?
1: to express an opinion in the form of an editorial
2: to introduce opinion into the reporting of facts
3: to express an opinion (as on a controversial issue)
Help me out. It was satire, a joke even, geddit? Did I violate any of the above rules?
As for ‘low-quality’ and ‘not in the spirit of the sub?’ Where are they in the above rules? Can either be judged objectively. Do they ban all low-quality postings?
And not being a c**nt?
See the comments below after the mod’s explanation, none removed, no one banned for being a c**nt, a p***ck of a bell-**d:

That last one a suggestion of physical violence?
Do mods have to have complete education to age 16?

I’ve always avoided reddit because I heard it was just full of the kind of cunts that post on YouTube videos.
Looks like I was right to do so.

I don’t want anything to do with Reddit but when googling over the years, I sometimes end up directed to Reddit then moments later receive a welcome email!

I was banned from WGD for saying that if Scotland ever votes for independence England will ignore the majority vote and it is possible we might see uk armed forces on our streets
I didn’t get any warning or even a reason for the ban but I did get harassment from their regulars who accused me of being racist to England , that was a few years ago just after 2014 , now they’re saying that England is racist to Scotland hmmm
Disagreeing with people about politics should never get you a ban

It’s hard to really see what Reddit rule you have fallen foul of, unless of course you bank with Coutts as I am sure that is what Rule 4 probably relates to. Nigel can assist with that one.

That subreddit has become a two faced joke in that It seems to a Unionist haven as I’ve seen tons of trolls like the ones in the Screenshots go ignored. I’ve seen other pro-indie get abuse and downvotes that the mods never once remove. There also been caught posting anti-LGBT and banned anyone calling It out.
I can see that sub imploding when Scotland leaves the UK and SLAB loses the GE.

It’s actually pretty much the opposite of what you describe. It’s very pro-independence.

Seventy-seven trombones led the MoD brigade
With a hundred and ten comments close at hand
They were followed by rows and rows of the finest virtual trolls,
A brigade that was never ever banned.
Seventy-seven trombones read the morning Sun
With a hundred and ten comments right behind
There were more than a thousand tweets
Springing up like weeds
There were horns of ev’ry shape and kind.
There were copper bottom tympani in horse platoons
Thundering, thundering all throughout the day.
Bell-end euphoniums and big bassoons,
Each bassoon having its big, fat say!
There were fifty mounted cannon in the battery
Thundering, thundering louder than before
Clarinets of ev’ry size
And Trumpeteers who’d improvise
A full octave higher than the score!

Obviously they have two classifications for who they perceive as “Cnuts”….
As in those deemed as acceptable (to them) Cnuts &…
Then those deemed as Unacceptable (to them) Cnuts….(as in NOT really Cnuts to others)
How they classify the above two categories is …classified….LOL
Mind you , not unique are they, as happening all the time …where some behaviour on social media , like say Twitter, is somehow considered MORE acceptable while other (similar) behaviour gets you a ban…..seen it all the time where tweets obviously offensive by SOME goes unpunished and their accounts stay open while others…well you know the story…guess it depends on WHO and WHAT you support…allegedly…..or perhaps actually.
For the record….you are more , IMO, one of the good guys….and never ever a Cnut……cannot say the same for Reddit…..pity you were not right wing…you could have then said you were “cancelled”….though apparently only THEY can claim that…they own it as a term…apparently….but then some of them also own the fact that they are Cnuts too….I rest my case….M’Lud.

The profanity and abuse that goes on in this sub is just disgraceful. It was a nice place last year, then the mods changed and it turned into some kind of ned chamber. There is a gang of unionist who patrol the sub. They are aggressive and nasty and are allowed carte blanche by the mods. They could write anything and get away with it. And they have.
They have banned all the leading indy users. Myself and another indy user were banned days apart. There was a purge. The mods are acting like fascists dictating what can and what can’t be said. It’s a disgrace. It is also causes extreme anxiety in users when the online gangs are allowed to roam free without any consequences.
I would like to see the mods removed and a new sub set up. I won’t hold my breath though.
