First Minister and previous Health Secretary, Humza Yousaf has averted strikes by nurses, ambulance staff and now junior doctors.
Deep within the grudging report from BBC Scotland with no comments from Sandesh Gulhane or Jackie Baillie, we read:
Committee chair Chris Smith said the improved offer involved “compromise on both sides” and was a “genuinely credible and workable pathway towards pay restoration”.
Dr Smith said: “At this stage, our negotiation team feels we have reached the limit of what can be achieved this year and does not think strike action would result in a realistically improved offer.
“Equally, it could potentially endanger the commitment that the Scottish government has offered to work with us to achieve pay restoration as an alternative to a sustained and escalated industrial dispute.
“It is our view that acceptance of this offer is the best way of achieving full pay restoration for doctors in Scotland.”
The SJDC has recommended that the offer is accepted.

The many strikes in England have been at a real and tragic cost:
In total, at least 93,022 outpatient appointments, 18,716 elective procedures, 27,957 community service appointments and 9,634 mental health and learning disability (MHLD) appointments have been rescheduled because of strike action. These are reported figures and not all trusts submitted data, so they will be lower than the true figures.

Excess deaths in England almost tripled in the two weeks during and after the first set of strikes by the British Medical Association (BMA) in March, Office for National Statistics (ONS) data shows. Junior doctors staged industrial action between March 13 and 15 for 72 hours, leading to the cancellation of around 175,000 appointments. Between March 11 and March 24, the number of excess deaths recorded in England were three times higher compared with two weeks prior, ONS data shows.

Excellent news. The SNP Gov working for Scotland. The SNHS the most important organisation. Keeping people alive and healthy. Health, education and welfare. The most important for the economy.

The London media avoided this story for most of the day, unsure what they could say to position the SNP as the “bad guy”.
Perhaps Lard Ffoulksakia could report them to the Westminster beaks for…………
“making things better, and doing it deliberately”!
“Make mine a LARGE double, Giuseppe, and make it quick”!

This round of NHS negotiations has shown the difference between a government that governs for the benefit of all of the people and a government that governs for the benefit of some of the people.
