From Public Health Scotland today:
7,716 referrals to community-based services started treatment during the quarter. Overall, 92% involved a wait of three weeks or less.
Nationally, the Standard was met for referrals to community-based services across all substances: problematic use of drugs (95%), co-dependency (93%) and alcohol (90%).

The target for drug and alcohol treatment has been met for five years, every quarter:
I can find no trace of even one time that BBC Scotland has mentioned this remarkable achievement.
In June 2022, they did tell us this:
Scotland’s addiction services have failed to achieve key targets that were set to reduce drug deaths, according to a new report. Nearly 60% of services did not give addicts the option to start treatment the same day they turned up.

The unionists councils under social care put people on methadone for years. Methadone is more deadly than heroin. All drug death are prescribed methadone and take other substances. Cocaine and ketamine are now the drugs of choice. More deadly over time.
The Scottish Gov has funded total abstinence proper rehab facilities £250Million over 5 years. Cheaper than prison (£40,000) and more affective. More younger people are seeking help. It is better to get off drugs when people are younger. More chance of success.

Scotland using the same appraisal as successful Portugal with drugs being used as a health issue brought on by despair, not used like some as an experience, others forced onto using drugs for instance in prostitution. Prison and punishment is not the answer!
