Prince to invest far far far less than SNP Government on ending homelessness

Yeh, I need 148 bedrooms in my ‘cottage’

BBC UK have been gushing all over this ‘major project‘ by Prince William to ‘end’ homelessness completely in six different places across the UK in the next five years by giving ‘up to £3 million‘ of his own, well ‘ours‘, money!

THREE MILLION!!?? WOW!!!

That’ll go a long way won’t it?

Nope.

Just for Scotland, the Scottish Government invested £100 million (https://www.gov.scot/policies/homelessness/) and in the very last of the 30 paragraph plus BBC online report:

A spokeswoman for the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities welcomed the prince’s initiative.

“We are giving councils £2bn over three years, to help them tackle homelessness and rough sleeping, targeted to areas where it is needed most,” she said.

I’ll leave you to divide those figures by 3.

  1. What a cunning plan. A drop in the ocean. The Royals pay 10% tax on £20Million. They pay no corporation tax, capital gains or inheritance tax, £Billions. They paid no tax for years. They are £Billionaires. A tiny sum of public coming back. It is creating some publicity and negativity.

Royals head of the Masonics. Bigots, racists and misogynists. Secrecy and unequal. The UK the most unequal place in the world. The Royals are part of the establishment who tax evade. If they and their associates paid taxes it would reduce homelessness.

Westminster mismanaging Scottish revenues and resources. The Scottish Gov has been building or renovation 6,000 houses a year. Over five years+. Private builders building 17,000 houses a year. 50,000+ people die in Scotland a year. Scotland has more than enough houses but some are in the misplaced locality. Scotland could end homelessness.

More funding needed for social problems etc. Scottish Gov funding £250million for proper rehab facilities over five years. Reducing homelessness and prison estate. Drink/drugs linked to crime. Crime committed under the influence.

Women who co habit, the majority, do not have equal rights. They have to put in a claim within a year. (1/3). It can cost £thousands and take years. There is little legal aid. Women have to stay in unsafe abusive places because they do not have equal rights. They can lose their house, their home.

The Law has been changed in England so women can get legal aid without losing their house and home. Legal Aid has to be paid back in any case. Spend £million to save £Billions in police, social care, NHS, foster care etc. To end homelessness for mothers and children who need help.

  2. Concern for soldiers dropping down in the heat. Westminster supporting illegal wars, forever. The Royals are a part of it. The establishment funding illegal wars and redundant weaponry. Illegally selling redundant weaponry worldwide. Funding illegal war. Hypocrites.

Funding Saudi Arabia military since the 1960s. Trident etc. Kept secret under the Official Secrets Act. The Royals at the helm. Killing other people’s mothers.

£Trillions spent on illegal wars. That could have been better spent. Reducing poverty and destruction in the world. Creating the migration crisis. Brexit another disaster. Refusing visas for the EU but migration from India etc.

Iraq, Dunblane and Lockerbie kept secret for 100 years.

  3. The Monarchy MUST be protected as it is a stalwart of The UNION – so week-after-week the public are subjected to puff pieces from the media , particularly the BBC , to pretend that they make a difference .
Program after program about The Royals infest our TV schedules – almost all complimentary or stomach-churningly sycophantic .

NEVER is there a suggestion that they should be abolished !

    Gaslighting – Simples !

    1. This is because the monarchy is just about the ONLY thing that the union has to offer.

And, Westminster operates on the principle of ‘the Crown in Parliament’ – nane o yer democracy nonsense, serf! And, of course, the monarchy hands out ‘gongs’, gratefully received by ‘Sir’ Keir and ‘Dame’ Jackie.

  4. Talking of real money, we should all start using cash instead of card in shops, my son read that an Aldi in London were demanding people use their app to get into their shop. Also read on twitter that Sainsbury’s have only self serve checkouts in some shops and folks were expected to show their receipt at the door! There is talk of a cashless society, whereby also your spending via card can be controlled, for example you’d be blocked buying certain things or amounts of products. Far fetched? Probably not. I’m off to the atm.

      1. Well if we were microchipped it would save on plastic you’d just use your hand to pay for things, if you have the means of course and depending on what’s allowed. Yikes… 😦
