Not protecting the NHS – Why Scots should be very very wary of voting Labour

PA Media: You will be MY man in Scohtlan!

Heaven forfend but should enough Scots be taken in by Labour, they then win the UK election in 2024 and, if the media carpet-bombing does enough damage to the SNP, they can form an unholy alliance with the Cons and LDs take Holyrood in 2026, we are in deep trouble.

As readers know, despite the media reporting, Scotland has by far the best NHS in the UK but with Labour in power in both places, this from the Canary, reveals that will guarantee it’s decline and increased unfairness:

Currently, under Keir Starmer’s leadership, it has plans to use the private sector to increase capacity in the NHS. Shadow health secretary Wes Streeting said in 2022:

If Labour were in government, we would… be using spare capacity in the private sector to bring down waiting lists. Private providers have capacity for 130% of the procedures they were doing for the NHS before the pandemic, but the government hasn’t utilised it.

This is on top of “reforms” to the NHS – which EveryDoctor has already critcised. Julia herself also hit back at Labour’s plans, telling the Canary:

Labour’s policy proposals for the NHS – the idea the private sector is going to save it – is a nonsense. We only have one pool of healthcare professionals in the UK, and only a tiny number of them work full time in the private sector. Also, the vast majority of training is done in the NHS. So, if we’re to utilise the private sector to alleviate pressure in the NHS, we’re just going to be poaching staff who could be working in the NHS.

I’m not saying that to criticise NHS staff. They should be paid better to do their jobs in the public sector, then we wouldn’t need the private sector. That’s why all this stuff we hear from politicians about saving the NHS and not wanting to privatise it falls flat. If that truly was their belief, then their policies would be about investing in the public system.

Watch our MSM obscure this threat as they campaign for Labour in Scotland.

  1. If the unholy alliance was to take holyrood by just one seat any political route to independence will be well and truly over for a very long time. They have said they will change the rules to ensure Scotland never gets this close to independence ever again.

  2. Is this why Labour is so interested in channeling money to the private health sector?

  3. Blair’s Labour was in the forefront of insidiously weakening /privatising the NHS by the backdoor .
Now we have two millionaire Blairites ”leading” the Labour party in England/Scotland .
Leopards don’t change their spots !

  4. Instead of increasing military spend £5Billion. NHS funding should be increased £5Billion. Saving lives instead of killing them.

Labour total useless incompetents. Intend increase funding for nuclear. £13Billion+ a year is being spent decommissioning nuclear over 10 years. £130Billion. More after that. Shutting Oil & Gas in the NS. It will have to be imported.

Renewables are taking over. A transition. US fracked gas is imported into Grangemouth. Scotland is in 25% surplus and nearer the source but pays more. No parity.

Scotland meets emission targets. Westminster cut funding for CCS projects in Peterhead and Longannet. Scotland is covered in coal with CCS. Scotland is the best place for CCS in the North Sea. Oil & Gas technology. The knowledge and experience. EU countries are invested in CCS in the North Sea. Scotland being left behind by Westminster holding up development.
