Watched a few short bits of the London event on TV and caught sight of a couple of members of the Westminster Bolivian Marching band in their full regalia.
Wet soaking rain didn’t manage to dampen our spirits today for sure and Tom Gordon’s lack of numeracy skills isn’t about to change that. Leslie Riddoch and Alex Salmond were the best of the speakers, apologies to anyone who spoke before them but we nipped off to get a Scotch pie and sausage roll, scoffed in no time, before getting back to hear Leslie. Biggest march since before Covid.
When the front of the match passed Charing Mansions the rear was at the start of Kelvin way, just over a mile.
I personally didn’t expect anything like it but then I was pretty impressed with two and half thousand when we went to Campbelltown.
They might have been referring to the Rally for a Republic in Edinburgh – we guessed there were about 500 there but it wasn’t very well publicised and it effectively clashed with the AUOB march.

The Herald’s estimate of the Indy march was somehow confused with their daily sales figures – apologies !
