Based on the words of Francois Balloux of UCL in London, James Cook tells us
In countries with high rates of vaccination, including the UK, the pandemic phase of the virus will be over by the spring.

Well, only if you don’t look at the latest data:

After 7 days of falling infections, the seven-day rolling averages in England and Northern Ireland are heading up again.
The above graph does not reveal the detail nor today’s figures:

It’s only one day but the data for Wales, on a Monday, are disturbing and for England and Northern Ireland seem stuck at a very high level. In Scotland, have fallen to below 1 000 for the first time in 7 days.

Neil Oliver would call this the price of ”Freedom ! ”
In fact , regardless of the high numbers, he would be elated that all restrictions on HIS FREEDOM are history – except for those pesky masks !
Why can’t people simply be brave like him – and trust to a nice cravat/scarf ?

May I suggest “In countries with high rates of vaccination, including the UK, the pandemic phase of the virus will be over by the spring.” is cloud cuckoo.
It was almost over in the summer of 2000, the vaccines we have only offer a level of degree of protection to what we know since a year ago.. Who knows what the virus will do, or more dangerously, London.

I suspect the Wales one day figure may be a blip given two days earlier it is zero

I’d like to be optimistic but the new under zero rules will have a big effect to the number of infections. I hope i’m wrong.
