BBC UK reveals Scotland’s care home vaccination success but BBC Scotland have some English stuff for you

At around 07:20am, BBC UK had a special report on the anxiety in English and Welsh care homes that they were being left behind in the vaccine rollout. They had the above graphic and the percentages showed Scotland to be well ahead on the curve, so to speak.

By 07:27am, BBC Scotland’s wee insert ignored that story altogether and spent some time with an English professor who had found that more than 70% of people showing symptoms of coronavirus aren’t following the rules in self-isolation. That the data are UK-wide was admitted but not commented on. Might the infection level being only half that in England suggest compliance with self-isolation, is higher?

I’ll ask her.

Footnote: Graham Stewart pronounced prevalence, preVAYlance. Yesterday, their Jamie McIvor pronounced whether, whUther. Are they mutating into a new variant due to isolation?

Thank you for using only ABC
The more we throw this mud the it sticks
And for those who are bewildered as what
ABC actually and in reality means
I enlighten you in full knowledge that not only correct but indeed is factual
      It is Abusurdistan Broadcasting Coporation
If enough of the mud sticks then never ever shall there be a exit route for them other than the door we eject them through with a very sore backside, that only Independence can attire ourselves with the appropriate foot wear in order to do so

  1. Stewart/McIvor—-perhaps getting their “script” through earbuds distorts the sound.
“Just following orders” isnt as easy as it sounds!

  2. I am starting to believe that the BBC don’t know about the Internet. They are certainly behaving as if it is the 1950s and you can do a Pathè News style re-write of reality without being discovered…in about 10seconds.

  3. I see that England’s Tories have decided not to decriminalise non payment of the TV tax.
Seems odd since they are privatising everything else.
They must have realised the propaganda value to them of having their state broadcaster retained in Scotland.

    1. Under Scots Law, you can’t be jailed for ‘debt’ in Scotland. BBC can’t threaten jail in Scotland, or harass someone who decides not to pay to be lied to every damn day.
They do lock people up for not being able to pay the TV tax in England. No doubt many more will be persecuted then because people are going to be struggling to pay their bills and for basics nevermind for EngGovs’ propaganda.

  5. Making self-isolation much more difficult?

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/covid-tests-cases-coronavirus-care-homes-latest-b1722608.html

“The government has been told to “get a grip” of its nationwide testing programme following reports that Covid-19 tests provided to members of the public and care homes are regularly being lost.

People across the country have complained of waiting days or even weeks to receive their results, before being informed by the Covid helpline that authorities were unable to locate their test.

Separately, care home providers have said that entire bags of swabs have been lost following residential outbreaks, forcing staff and patients to retake their tests.

Some care homes claim that their tests were dumped by couriers and never delivered to the processing laboratories, while others say their swabs have repeatedly not been collected.

A Public Health England (PHE) source who works on tracing complex Covid-19 outbreaks told The Independent that these issues “have been happening for months”.”

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/oct/05/how-excel-may-have-caused-loss-of-16000-covid-tests-in-england

“A million-row limit on Microsoft’s Excel spreadsheet software may have led to Public Health England misplacing nearly 16,000 Covid test results, it is understood.

The data error, which led to 15,841 positive tests being left off the official daily figures, means than 50,000 potentially infectious people may have been missed by contact tracers and not told to self-isolate.

PHE was responsible for collating the test results from public and private labs, and publishing the daily updates on case count and tests performed.

But the rapid development of the testing programme has meant that much of the work is still done manually, with individual labs sending PHE spreadsheets containing their results. Although the system has improved from the early days of the pandemic, when some of the work was performed with phone calls, pens and paper, it is still far from automated”
