Back again as just Hughie, the Scotland in Union covert writing group member, seems to have lifted my sources from repeated rejections of the argument that hospital discharges caused the care home infections.
We seem to agree that they were inadvertently caused by agency staff untested on arrival in care homes, often from as far away as Kent.
The research is here:
But then, astonishingly, he thinks the Scottish Government was to blame for not testing them even though they were bussed in by profit-seeking corporations, making up to £1 000 per week for a resident.
Might the care home owners have taken responsibility for the care of their residents and staff and paid for one of the easily accessed tests for one of their own employees?
The Poison Pennington strikes again, he didn’t even credit you with digging it out…🤣
His intellectual time-travel gymnastic skills are impressive (knowledge and science on Covid, and availability of and accuracy of tests were available months earlier than all evidence provides) but it his legal gymnastics which truly shine.. SG are guilty of not forcing testing (see above) on private Care-Home staff at the time. Clue – They cannot do so now even though they have the capacity, NOW.
Given his clear connection with Mr Kilgour with their recent YouAbsolute Toobs effort, the only question remaining is whether this was pro-bono or on word based remuneration?

But, but, John – You forget that the chief exec’s first duty is to maximise shareholder return and what you suggest by your question would have cost a few pennies.
PS. Your headline brought back a line from Tom Lehrer. ( I’m sure you’re old enough to remember him ). 🙂

“While we’re poisoning pigeons in the park” also seems appropriate. One Professor with a sense of the absurd versus one who would promote it..

Some serious failure in their duty of care by carehome owning companies, some registered as far away as the Caymen Islands and only interested in milking granny of every last penny, whilst paying peanuts to staff and making sure they avoid UK taxes ! I know where I lay the blame and I would have them in court. The elite with the funny handshakes would manage to get ‘no case to answer’ filtered down like the word of God !

The media, including many on the left, have steadfastly failed to examine the responsibilities of care home owners and whether they have any degree of culpability.
I am puzzled as to why this has not been done by at least one media organisation or even some journalists within it.
