Scottish Parliament acts to make us all proud but Scotland’s NoMedia say nah black lives don’t matter THAT much!

BBC Scotland had nothing to say about this momentous vote.

It was left to the Independent (paper sales zero in Scotland) to tell us:

Scottish Parliament votes for immediate suspension of tear gas, rubber bullet and riot shield exports to US

A successful motion, which was backed by 52 votes to 0 with 11 abstentions, says the parliament “stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and considers that the UK government must immediately suspend all export licences for tear gas, rubber bullets and riot gear to the US”.

Oooh, I wonder who the 11 abstentions were? There are 129 MSPs so there were a lot more than 11 not there to vote. There are 31 Tories so the 11 were keen to make a point – The Black Lives Don’t Matter 11?

The Independent also had this quote which Reporting Scotland might like to use:

Comment on the Scottish Parliament vote, Andrew Smith of Campaign Against Arms Trade said: “This is a welcome and important statement of leadership from the Scottish Parliament. It sends a very clear message and sets an important precedent. Now it is time for Westminster to act.

The Scotsman:

LATEST: The Express covered it! I dare not read it.

  1. So the Scottish parliment stand in solidarity with people who go around vandalising looting and beating up the white people no wonder i voted against them. Why are we now constantly bowing down to all these different races who have decided to come and live here either abide by our laws or go home simple we are now a minority in our own country

    1. Couldn’t have put it better, been to Africa, ME, Asia & S. America it’s whips & real bullets they use in these places. What difference will this vote make? Do we manufacture any of this equipment? If not, why was the subject discussed?

  2. Actually, the tories didn’t abstain or vote against the motion, this was incorrectly reported in the independent. I checked the parliament website and it says “ The result of the division is: For 63, Against 0, Abstentions 0”. So It passed unanimously. Which actually makes the story even more interesting!!!
