Once more BBC Scotland report on the Skye care home infections and deaths without reference to the November 2019-January 2020 Care Inspectorate inspection report which demanded that the owners do something about the staffing level and the unavoidably connected failures in infection control. Crucially by March 2020, the demands had not been addressed to their satisfaction.

Astonishingly given the evidence of the report and local reports of agency staff from England being brought in, this statement goes unchallenged:

BBC 1 news at 22.15pm. Reference made to new ‘excess death’ figures (of course) for the whole of the UK. This was immediately followed by a harrowing story of care home deaths and associated support problems – but where? In England? Of course not – in NI.
This was followed by a series of Covid-related stories about the ‘NHS’ with relatively positive framing – from where? NI? Of course not – all from England!
Am I getting hypersensitive? Maybe … but then …!

That care home in Skye has a most unfortunate name.
Farms seem uncomfortably associated with herds.
The only rational explanation for Johnson’s unlocking policy is that they are still following
their herd infection strategy but with a one foot high containment fence.

Yes, it is a bit unfortunate now. It is built on the original “home farm” land in Portree and is on Home Farm Road which connects the farm land to Portree.

English Broadcasting Corruption is getting blatantly more biased and anti Scottish government as the days go by. There needs to be a major overhaul of this institution with the Westminster controlled cancer removed and replaced by non politically biased personnel. Then maybe, just maybe we could start trusting in it again, don’t go holding your breath though, certainly not anytime soon.

Did this deal happen? Anyone know? Is a property investment company now in control of a major part of the care home sector in the UK? If so that would be reassuring would it not?

Strangely NHS reports no increase in cases of Covid 19 in the community on Skye despite 57 cases connected to Home Farm. Seems very unlikely then that the local community is the source of the infection.
