Tom Gordon on Nicola Sturgeon and borders: He just makes it all up as he pleases

In the Herald today:

NICOLA Sturgeon has suggested the coronavirus lockdown in Scotland could end later than the one in England and that she might seek powers to close the Border.’

She said nothing of the sort.

Imagine he said something of that level of fakery to the Donald?

“You’re so disgraceful,” he said. “It’s so disgraceful the way you say that.”

At the briefing yesterday she mentioned, smiling grimly, how much twisting was required to make it seem like she had said that.

Now, I write as someone who would like to see the border closed. It makes a lot of sense and comparable actions have been taken in federal states such as Germany and Australia but she didn’t say it. It’s fake news of the kind corporate media like the Herald like to argue is found in social media and not on their pages.

  1. The Herald lies.

When Komatsu was in even greater competition with Caterpillar than now, it had a two word mission statement, “Kill Caterpillar”. Kill Papers

  2. “Give me my thirty pieces of silver, and give it to me now” !—No, it wasn’t Jackdaw Carlot who said it—though close.
It might have been any one of Scotland’s benighted press choir, so take your pick. But do it quickly before they sign on the burroo.

As Augustine nearly said—“Make me a journalist, Lord, but not just yet” !
