Why is only BBC Scotland telling you how bad things are?

There’s no daily update headlined as nearly 1 000 deaths in one day means a rate similar to that of Italy but even when you click on the updates, you only get this:

No numbers, of cases or of deaths. Meanwhile in Scotland and, of course, headlined across the BBC UK broadcasts, you get this:

Notice anything? More cases more deaths but no context.

    1. On Good Morning Scotland today when the virus figures were reported, the presenter began with the UK figures and then moved on to give the Scottish data. Is this a sign of change or just an inexperienced reporter (I did not recognise her name) who has not yet been affected by the Pacific Quay “Scotland bad” virus?

  1. Questions I would like to have answered.

Has the Scottish government tied itself irrevocably to a UK government policy of herd immunity rather than trying to eradicate the covid19?

If not, where is all the kit, planning and lab resources necessary for widespread testing? What recruitment and training of people to do the contact tracing and isolation is happening?

    1. Thanks sam – this video is really good, I do hope they keep up the reports as it’s very informative. Will anybody in government watch it? Well, I’ve just sent my MSP a link to it recommending it and asking ,,, well, maybe a bit too many questions. But, you know me, I can’t help rambling, and I stayed on point for the most part – is scotgov planning to implement contact tracing, can they, and would he (Bob Doris, he’s a lovely man, sends me a christmas card every year) ask these questions of scotgov (and are we using all our lab testing facilities, and what are the consequences if we go against UK gov’t ‘strategy’). But I asked it more eloquently than that.

It ain’t much, but I need to start trying to do something!
