SNP aide’s ‘hypocrisy’ contrasted with Royal Couple’s ‘charitable work’ in Scottish Highlands.

Monica Lennon, Willie Rennie, Murdo Fraser and assorted wee media jackals are salivating at the prospect of collateral damage to the First Minister and the SNP by taking down a hard-working civil servant.

Remind me of what they said when an already-diseased Prince and his retinue of bottom-wipers were flown into Balmoral, from whichever of his umpteen homes in England, that he caught it in.

When they find out that Alex Salmond once pecked her on the cheek at some do, you’ll hear the sound of growling and snapping for miles.

  1. With the English media circling overhead like vultures you can tell from the daily covid ‘Briefing’ questions today which item will be headlined tomorrow. ‘Resign’ I hear them cry so to ensure we are distracted by the hundreds more deaths in England that is a side issue when there is an golden opportunity to stick it to the jocks. That is the sad state of the media in Britain today.

  2. She might well be a ‘hard working civil servant’, but she is also quite clearly an entitled hypocrite.
Her stupidity, lack of judgement and lack of self awareness might cost lives.
Can you believe her when she says it’s really important to stay at home, when she clearly doesn’t think it is?
Can you believe her about anything?
Always be careful taking when you take the advice of idiots.

  3. I see that the BBC Scotland site adds – apropos of what? – that Dr Calderwood was ‘originally from Belfast’. What is the relevance of this information?

  4. I wonder if Wee Wullie, Murdo the Loser Guy and Monica Lemmon will be calling for Prince Charlie to resign as well? Thought not.

Is it really only a week since the police were being castigated by the media, for clamping down on people driving for hundreds of miles to beauty spots (Peak district being one) for walks?
Now they jump all over the CMO for doing what they wanted the police to allow!

  5. I’m with Derek on this one:

Aye, the media are a bunch of hypocrites, but I do not want someone who has such poor judgement in charge of deciding matters related to life and death.

      1. Am I right in thinking that the MOH Scotland is in effect an appointee of the UK Civil Service Commission and is a UK civil servant ? The Scottish First Minster would have been presented with a list of ca andidates for the post , that list having been compiled by the UK Civil Service . Like Lesley Evans , Dr Catherine Calderwood gives /gave advice but is not answerable to the First Minister and her cabinet .
        and her cabinet

      2. Alastair, she has done really good work with bringing in new working practices in the NHS – making treatment a more holistic process – but dealing with a pandemic is a different thing altogether, she never seemed very sure of herself, and just seemed to be following Westminster decreed protocol. The job just now needs a different skill set, so I am not particularly sorry to see her go, though if the government had given her more support and a decent team to advise I am sure she would have perfectly able to do the job.

And, she was the one that happily accepted prince Charles’ disease ridden carcass into Scotland. Her behaviour smacks of elitism, she was going for holiday weekends with her family, while preaching otherwise to people. No, the government response to the pandemic has not been ideal, whether it’ll improve or not from her leaving post is not certain of course, and might even be worse.

Brian, as far as I’m aware, Nicola Sturgeon can fire her from her post, but not her employment as a civil servant – she won’t lose her job exactly, she’ll be reassigned. Anyway, she’s resigned, so the question is moot (resigned from the post, still, she won’t have lost a job and be joining the unemployed queue)

  6. skittish sun broke this “story”. Or did police inform them of Dr Calderwood ‘ error in personal personal action?

With the pressure this medical professional adviser is under, I think she has done a bloody great job.

What re Windsors…any hue and cry from assorted hacks and pro I’m bellyachers?
A 45 mile, solo journey zero contact compared to Charlie’s 700+ mile journey up to Aberdeen thence a casual drive to Balmoral and on to his neuk therein. Meet and greet skiffies? Spread virus to them? Hauls NHS staff out from Aberdeen to Balwotsit…gets a test for he and wife (a test NHS personnel can’t get) then isolated for….as long as this health crisis lasts. Did I forget 8 flunkies spreading infection they might have had. And lastly, but by no means least, having an IC bed kept for him, and any local folks can whistle…if they can still breathe, that is. Which is the greater offence?

    Hypocrisy, thy name is Unionists.
