641* covid-19 deaths in one day in England but please don’t mention them because they’re nobody’s fault

I had to subtract the deaths in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales from those published for the UK as a whole because figures for England are not published by the BBC.

They’ve been headlining death daily in Scotland and with linked photos of the First Minister.

In sharp contrast BBC UK has used UK figures and neither have linked them with photos or Johnson or Hancock despite reports elsewhere of their responsibility for increasing deaths by inaction.

*Of course, even the 641 is an acknowledged understatement, unlike the Scottish figures. We know this from the Guardian and bizarrely from a BBC Scotland report:

  1. Sorry John cannot let this pass. Recently you have highlighted Press and Media headlines meant to clearly undermine the Scot Gov but todays attack on our CMO must surely be the most detestable yet. The Sun reporting and which is plastered all over the media including the BBC about her paying a fleeting visit to our parents house. Most likely we are seeing a Sun reporter travelling around the country and ‘stalking’ our CMO to get this lurid story emphasises just how low this country’s media have stooped. The attack on a women who presently is in one of the most demanding of jobs no doubt working long hours doing a brilliant job to keep us safe and informed just takes your breath away. Sickening just does not cover it. Absolutely seething.
