What is the extent of this failure?
95.9% of school leavers gained one pass or more at SCQF Level 4 (e.g. National 4) or better, (a decrease from 96.2% in 2017-18)

So, a drop of 0.3% in the course of one-year, statistically insignificant on both counts – size and timescale – means the Scottish Government is failing pupils? This headline goes way beyond the misleading to become dishonest and disgusting.

I see the EIS are planning to strike next year in pursuit of their pay claim just before the next Holyrood elections. They also seem to want to get other unions eg civil service involved in strike actions around that time. In the Herald today.

Of course, had the number of pupils gaining a pass gone UP by 0.3% the Scotsman would have produced a front page PRAISING the SNP.

See Scot goes pop condemning Scotsman on the inaccuracy at every level of the reporting of the latest you gov poll on independence . Think all the propaganda machines are all upping the gear ready to go into top when the Holyrood election gets close to polling day .
