  1. Some interesting comments from Devon labour MP Ben Bradshaw being carried in the German media where he is predicting Scottish Independence and reporting that his Scottish relations who were strongly No have now moved to YES. Also interesting comments from Westminster labour leadership candidate Clive Lewis who is publicly (and repeatedly) backing Scotland’s right to choose her own constitutional future. (Why such an unremarkable observation should be considered controversial is testament to the bizarre position Ukania has descended into).

I confess I knew little about Clive Lewis but found his various comments interesting and reached for wicki. I was educated (and amused) by the information about a previous dirty tricks campaign against Clive Lewis (as a student) by the (much lamented!!) former ‘Scottish’ labour sub-branch manager Jim Murphy. Snippets below: (Given that Clive is clearly roundly hated by Murphy I really hope he gets a good crack at the leadership job – but suspect the mightily entrenched britnat atlanticist project within labour ranks will ensure he doesn’t):

He was the first member of his family to attend university, studying economics at the University of Bradford before being elected student union president, and later vice-president of the National Union of Students (NUS). In November 1995, he was a signatory to a letter that argued for the abolition of student loans.

Lewis was suspended from the role of vice-president of the NUS in 1996 by the president of the NUS, Jim Murphy, for publicly supporting concerns about tuition fees. Murphy’s actions were condemned by Ken Livingstone, then a Labour MP. Lewis ran for president of the National Union of Students in 1996 on a platform of full grants and free education. He lost the election to Douglas Trainer.

(Check out the Douglas Trainer guy who Murphy engineered into the top job against Clive Lewis) – From wicki:

Douglas Trainer was President of the National Union of Students of the United Kingdom (NUS) from 1996 to 1998, having served the previous two years as President of NUS Scotland, winning both as the Labour Students candidate.
He went on to work for, and become a partner in public relations company Luther Pendragon, and in 2006 became a special adviser for the Scottish Executive.

Since Labour’s defeat in the Scottish Parliament election, 2007, Trainer has worked for Serco as Communications Director for their Civil Government Business and is now working for Newham Council. He recently separated from top government headhunter Andrea Bainger.

Come on Scotland – we need to remove ourselves from this Ukanian wonderland (lunatic asylum) at the earliest available opportunity.
