Since the events, and the scale of these events, appear to stretch back almost 40 years or so then more than one PM and Health Sectretary have held office during that time.
The information that is emerging is so appalling and desperately tragic for the families involved. I think it would be better not to use it in any way, however tempting, to make any comment about this iand the media’s treatment of these two stories. I am pretty sure people can see the situation for themselves.

With all due respect Legerwood, I doubt whether people in Scotland will hear about this in the same sensationalised daily shrieks that they hear of NHS Scotland tragedies. I expect that this preventable tragedy will be kicked into the long grass to wither and die like so many other scandals…

Yes, the NHS England case. 20,000 may be sold but more than that are read.
There is a risk in pointing out the differences in the reporting of these two stories by the media north and south of the border. The Scottish media could say that their aggressive holding to account ministers, boards etc in NHS Scotland over what is happening at QEUH, and other hospitals, makes it less likely that something such as the Maternity deaths scandal would go on for 40 years as it seems to have done down south.
