Professor John Robertson OBA The above report, two days ago, in the Times, is just the latest in a stream of BMA Scotland activity which diverges from the BMA UK‘s tendency to report favourably on the Scottish Government’s handling of the NHS (more on this below). The findings referred to are from the General Medical Council‘s 2025 National Training Survey.1 In it, the word ‘safety‘ appears 9 times but is never linked to Scotland specifically. The Herald’s misleading headline – The UN is NOT ‘probing’ any ‘Scots judge-led body’s ‘breach’ of international law

The information from the complainant, the Environmental Rights Centre for Scotland (ERCS) states that it IS URGING the UN body to intervene. These are two quite different things: we have yet to find out if the URGING will bear fruit.
