Just a complaint, no charges but Alex Salmond has been the top story on the Politics page of BBC Scotland website since 3 November while the Labour council leader actually charges fades within hours

By Anonymous Another BBC ‘Blink and you miss it’ headline at the top of their Scottish pages of their website when it is considered to be too #BAD a story connected to another political party who are in opposition to the SNP. While many headlines concocted by the BBC and so promoted as being connected to, as in linked to a #SNPBAD story, well as articles they stay (high) up on the BBC website for days on end, sometimes with different versions of the same story via a variety of articles in the Scottish pages of their BBC website. For example on their Scottish Politics page the top story is still a story connected to a … Continue reading Just a complaint, no charges but Alex Salmond has been the top story on the Politics page of BBC Scotland website since 3 November while the Labour council leader actually charges fades within hours

Stephen McCabe’s previous abusive behaviour

By Anonymous Someone online had bookmarked something else relating to Stephen McCabe. “Labour councillor Stephen McCabe last hit the headlines when he sent a letter to Michael Gove urging the Tory minister to bypass Holyrood” Is there no end to this guy doing both the wrong and the worse thing ? Rhetorical Q obviously. Seems he, McCabe, put country before party when he wrote to Michael Gove. However the only problem with that was that he put another country, UK/England, before his own country Scotland. (Also we know that with his party , Labour, they also put another country before Scotland , so I guess McCabe was also considering his own party too as well … Continue reading Stephen McCabe’s previous abusive behaviour

‘Business will bear the brunt of Labour’s record tax raising UK budget’ says the Scottish Chamber of Commerce as it calls on the Scottish Government to help – even more spend on mitigating Westminster’s decisions?

By stewartb The Scottish Chamber of Commerce (SCC) has published its response to the British Labour Party’s UK budget: ‘SCC Response to Autumn Statement – SCC call on Scottish Government to utilise consequential funding to support economic growth’. Source: https://www.scottishchambers.org.uk/press_policy/scc-response-to-autumn-statement-2/ In it we find this: ‘… Chief Executive of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce (SCC) said: “We welcome the additional £3.4 billion of funding for Scotland but as always the devil is in the detail, and we need to see a full breakdown of how this will be utilised to support economic growth.” Adding: “As we look ahead to the … Continue reading ‘Business will bear the brunt of Labour’s record tax raising UK budget’ says the Scottish Chamber of Commerce as it calls on the Scottish Government to help – even more spend on mitigating Westminster’s decisions?

If the Scottish Socialist Party can stand in all 8 regions, they can provide the overall pro-independence majority

The latest Norstat poll for the Times, post Budget, gives the SNP 51 MSPs, Labour 29, Tories 16, Reform 12, Lib Dems 11 and Greens 10 putting a pro-independence majority in doubt. Pollsters do not ask about the Scottish Socialists because they have not stood since they lost their 6 regional seats in 2007, after an internal split. However, things have changed as Labour head to the right, losing mass support, and the SNP drift toward the centre, creating a big gap on the left for voters who want democratic socialist policies including progressive taxation, council tax replacement, Waspi women … Continue reading If the Scottish Socialist Party can stand in all 8 regions, they can provide the overall pro-independence majority

Premature and low birth weight babies surge in Scotland due to UK austerity – While poverty rates are ‘considerably higher’ in England thanks to SNP efforts, Labour risk making things worse again

By Professor John Robertson OBA In the Guardian today: The introduction of UK austerity policies has been associated with a striking increase in the number of babies in Scotland being born smaller or earlier than expected, data suggests. Researchers believe cuts to social security benefits and services are key to understanding these trends, which have hit families living in the poorest neighbourhoods the hardest. and further down: Given that post-austerity poverty rates are actually fairly considerably higher in England, the expectation is that we will have seen similar trends there. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2024/nov/02/uk-austerity-policies-premature-low-birth-weight-babies-scotland The Labour government’s early actions on, for example, keeping the two-child benefit cap … Continue reading Premature and low birth weight babies surge in Scotland due to UK austerity – While poverty rates are ‘considerably higher’ in England thanks to SNP efforts, Labour risk making things worse again

The Cartunionist again with a Laboured joke

As Labour fake generosity toward Scotland in the wake of their attacks on the poor, the Herald cartoonist offers another of his anti-SNP ‘humorous’ takes. Here’s a reminder of his previous: The Herald’s Steven Camley’s interpretation of the SNP leader’s performance in the House of Commons on Wednesday. Like the English cartoonists, he attempts to conceal the fact that the SNP had a substantive, serious, motion, on one of their only 3 days, based on years of consistent support for the human rights of the Palestinian people, hijacked by a bullied Labour Party speaker and his pro-Israel leader, to prevent … Continue reading The Cartunionist again with a Laboured joke

Union Flag badges to be put on all Labour direct investment projects in Scotland – third time lucky?

From the National today: THE UK Government has announced plans for £1.4 billion of “direct investment” in Scotland over the next 10 years. The details of the funding, which will bypass Holyrood, were laid out by Scottish Labour on Friday. Many of the announcements are confirmations of “levelling up” funding, a project begun under the Tories. The UK Government replaced EU funding – which had been controlled by the Scottish Government pre-Brexit – with funding that they directly controlled. Labour councillors are thought to be concerned that locals might think these are SNP projects and so, Billy ‘King’ Fullarton of Kilwinning has demanded that Union flag … Continue reading Union Flag badges to be put on all Labour direct investment projects in Scotland – third time lucky?

Rachel Reeves allowed to say ‘Frankly the performance of the NHS in Scotland under the SNP is worse than in any part of the United Kingdom’ unchecked by facts that it’s the exact opposite

Thanks to stewartb for alerting me to this: Rt Hon Rachel Reeves MP, Chancellor for the Exchequer in a BBC Radio Scotland interview with Gary Robertson, October 31: “… frankly the performance of the NHS in Scotland under the SNP is worse than in any part of the United Kingdom”. Source: https://x.com/i/status/1851917541041430825 How LOW is the leadership of the British Labour Party willing to sink in its lies and deceit? And can BBC Scotland get anymore useless – any more biased – as it fails again to hold a Westminster government minister to account regarding their dealings towards Scotland, even on such … Continue reading Rachel Reeves allowed to say ‘Frankly the performance of the NHS in Scotland under the SNP is worse than in any part of the United Kingdom’ unchecked by facts that it’s the exact opposite

Scottish Tory leader conflicted by ‘perfect happiness’ over no free prescriptions but ‘palpable anger’ at winter fuel allowance cut

By Anonymous “Scots would be perfectly happy to see the end of universal free prescriptions from the NHS” says Tory leader (ITO) in Scotland. Meanwhile the same Tory leader (ITO) in Scotland was not “happy”, as in he was opposed to, Labour UK cutting the “Universal” Winter Fuel allowance for Pensioners, in fact neither were most of the people who lived in Scotland “happy” either. In fact Russell Findlay said “there was “palpable” anger at Labour across the UK” on this decision. Also he said that “Elderly folk who have slogged hard all their days feel absolutely betrayed.” Of course he condemned the Labour PM for “not carrying out … Continue reading Scottish Tory leader conflicted by ‘perfect happiness’ over no free prescriptions but ‘palpable anger’ at winter fuel allowance cut

Scottish Cons and Labour’s attack on free prescriptions could cost thousands of lives in the next pandemic

By Professor John Robertson OBA In the National, yesterday: SCOTS would be “perfectly happy” to see the end of universal free prescriptions from the NHS, the Scottish Tory leader has claimed. As far back as 2012, Scottish Labour would not have protected free prescriptions – Labour leader Johann Lamont has signalled a policy shift by calling for an end to a “something for nothing” culture. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/13074454.lamont-calls-end-something-nothing-culture/ In September 2024, The Trussell Trust reported: 68% of working households in receipt of Universal Credit having gone without essentials, such as basic toiletries and prescriptions, in the last six months. This is only slightly lower than the … Continue reading Scottish Cons and Labour’s attack on free prescriptions could cost thousands of lives in the next pandemic
