Every public service in Scotland is performing better than those in other parts of the UK but one of Joseph Goebbels’ many students in Scottish Labour knows how to make it seem the opposite

Yesterday in the Guardian, Anas Sarwar is quoted as: having accused the Scottish government of “weakening every institution in Scotland“, and causing Scotland “to be stuck in a rut where Scots have to wait too long for healthcare, feel insecure both economically and often in their communities, and fear for the future opportunities of their children.” If feel sure you don’t need to be told just how inaccurate all of that rant is. I don’t doubt he too knows it’s not true. None of that matters in his drive for power. He has learned: Make the lie big, make it … Continue reading Every public service in Scotland is performing better than those in other parts of the UK but one of Joseph Goebbels’ many students in Scottish Labour knows how to make it seem the opposite

Jackie Baillie trying to fool you by exploiting the less than 4% delayed hospital discharges in Scotland while hiding from you our 50 times better care at home figures

By Professor John Robertson OBA Thanks to AR for another of his regular alerts. From STV today: The cost of delays to the discharge of patients from hospitals in Scotland has reached nearly £1.5bn over the last 10 years, according to analysis by Scottish Labour. then after 8 paragraphs, this: Health secretary Neil Gray said: “Most people are able to leave hospital with no delays – currently over 96% of all hospital discharges happen without delay – but reducing delayed discharges further is a priority for the Scottish Government. Far more important but being ignored by all of ‘our’ MSM, this from … Continue reading Jackie Baillie trying to fool you by exploiting the less than 4% delayed hospital discharges in Scotland while hiding from you our 50 times better care at home figures

Disappointment for journalists as Scottish hospitals report the same level of rats, mice and cockroaches as English hospitals

The Scottish media today are full of tales of rats, maggots and mice in hospitals, with £4.3m spent on pest control, by NHS Scotland over the last 5 years, on pest control . I can find no NHS England total but judging by a Guardian report in April 2023, based on a Lib Dem Freedom of Information request, each of England’s 142 trusts spent between £120 000 and £380 000 over the last 3 years. So, a conservative figure of £200 000 per trust, on average, over the last 3 years, £300 000 over the last 5? A total of … Continue reading Disappointment for journalists as Scottish hospitals report the same level of rats, mice and cockroaches as English hospitals

In Scotland no actual ambulance crisis as in Wales but still even the possibility of delays has the BBC inviting Scottish Cons and Labour round to finish 2024 off with one more SNP-bad session

By Professor John Robertson OBA You have to laugh as BBC Wales use the image on the left above for Ambulance chief says ‘drink sensibly’ over New Year after critical incident but BBC Scotland can only find the one parked outside a corner shop in Forfar as the paramedics nip in for bridies, for Ambulance crews put on highest level of emergency. BBC Wales have this staggering report: Welsh ambulance service chiefs have urged the public to “drink sensibly” at New Year to help reduce demand on emergency services that suffered a 340-call backlog on Monday. Jason Killens, chief executive of Welsh … Continue reading In Scotland no actual ambulance crisis as in Wales but still even the possibility of delays has the BBC inviting Scottish Cons and Labour round to finish 2024 off with one more SNP-bad session

I could walk 140 000 miles or repaint the Sistine Chapel ceiling before Operation Branchform admits defeat

From the ever-excellent Wee Ginger Dug in the National today, 15 things that took less time to resolve than Operation Branchform: I’m guessing Ukraine and Russia do a deal before a Scottish court, the second it sees the charges against Peter Murrell and/or Nicola Sturgeon, chucks them out. All things must end. The Ukraine war will end this year and Operation Branchform, soon after. Branchform was clearly set up, on orders from the UK Government, to milk this ridiculous case as long as possible, ignoring the scornful laughter, to weaken the SNP, as it has, as soon as we saw … Continue reading I could walk 140 000 miles or repaint the Sistine Chapel ceiling before Operation Branchform admits defeat

Talking-up Scotland 10 Year Anniversary

Professor John Robertson OBA Just about 11 years ago, I published this research report, revealing clear media bias against the Yes campaign in the run-up to the 2014 Scottish Independence Referendum. It went viral in the following days and weeks. See: https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocracyuk/bbc-bias-and-scots-referendum-new-report/ BBC Scotland challenged the findings and reported me for ‘professional misconduct‘ to my employer – the University of the West of Scotland. After a nervous month or so, no action against me was taken. In March 2014, I was called by the Scottish Parliament to defend my work. See: I was followed by four of the BBC Scotland … Continue reading Talking-up Scotland 10 Year Anniversary

New £34m SNP Gov-funded multi-disciplinary GP and health centre opening in Glasgow, ignored by BBC Scotland and credited by STV to Conservative pressure on SNP council yet they have only 2 out of 85 councillors

Image LDRS From STV yesterday: A huge GP surgery and health centre, which will combine services located at nine different sites, is due to open within weeks in Glasgow’s East End. There will be three GP practices based at the new building in Duke Street – Forge Medical Practice, Drs McKenzie and Burns and Meadowpark Surgery – as well as other services. The health and social care building is one of the largest of its kind in the UK, and it is hoped that patients will be able to access treatment by the end of January. When open, the Hub … Continue reading New £34m SNP Gov-funded multi-disciplinary GP and health centre opening in Glasgow, ignored by BBC Scotland and credited by STV to Conservative pressure on SNP council yet they have only 2 out of 85 councillors

Leading European expert says Scotland is ‘at the very top pillar with regards to patient safety’ since 2007, but on Boxing Day, BBC Scotland tries to compare us unfavourably with England

By By Professor John Robertson OBA From BBC Scotland, this morning, after their ignorant and tasteless Christmas Eve attack, with the Scottish Cons and Labour’s Jackie Baillie, on the reputation of the staff at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Clydebank, they’re back at it again today with more inaccurate reporting, this time on patient safety, with: A recruitment drive for Scotland’s first ever Patient Safety Commissioner has failed for a second time. MSPs passed a law creating the new independent public advocate for NHS patients in September last year. The first round of interviews for the £89,685-a-year role in April failed to produce … Continue reading Leading European expert says Scotland is ‘at the very top pillar with regards to patient safety’ since 2007, but on Boxing Day, BBC Scotland tries to compare us unfavourably with England

A gift for Scotland only – Christmas Eve, A&E death lies, BBC Scotland and Sandesh Gulhane

By Professor John Robertson OBA NOTE: I’m so sickeningly angry, I’ve put this rebuttal together very quickly so please forgive any errors. BBC Reporting Scotland and Good Mourning Scotland only, not on the BBC Scotland website or any oter BBC site, a disgusting piece of heartless propaganda repeating the trash media reports, today: The above claims are based on Conservative and Labour ‘modelling‘, saved up for the ‘Scottish’ media to release today, Christmas Eve, and underpinned by Royal College of Emergency Medicine (UK) analysis. BBC UK, England and Wales do not have this story. They tried this foul-smelling Xmas game, three years … Continue reading A gift for Scotland only – Christmas Eve, A&E death lies, BBC Scotland and Sandesh Gulhane

Homicide reduced by a third and robbery more than halved in first years of SNP rule

Professor John Robertson OBA From the UK Government’s Serious Violence Strategy report in 2018, the above table revealing the uniquely dramatic fall in homicide in Scotland, following the election of the SNP minority government in Scotland in 2007. Many will, correctly, point out that such change will be due to more than one factor [see below] but had this happened under a Conservative and/or Labour Government in Scotland, they’d claim credit, or had homicide surged under the SNP, they’d be blamed for it. Even more dramatic, see below, robbery halved. Other factors? There is some evidence that improving health services can help … Continue reading Homicide reduced by a third and robbery more than halved in first years of SNP rule
