Everyone in Scotland now benefits from the progressive SNP national council tax freeze

By Professor John Robertson OBA BBC Breakfast this morning looked at the increasing cost of living, in particular council tax increases. They didn’t compare costs across the UK. In March 2024: While Labour, Tory and LibDem councils tried to impose big council tax hikes, it was an SNP government which has protected family budgets during this cost-of-living crisis. As well as showing a clear difference between the SNP and the Westminster parties, it also stands as an example to show voters how decisions made in Scotland prove better for the people of Scotland. It was the SNP that delivered a policy to protect people during … Continue reading Everyone in Scotland now benefits from the progressive SNP national council tax freeze

NHS England spending EIGHT TIMES more per head on private consultants than ‘SNP’ NHS

By Professor John Robertson, OBA The Scotsman yesterday, headlined: Anger as SNP consultants bill hits £42m Mr Robertson begins class on using maths with the above story – ‘Seems a big number doesn’t it boys and girls?’ Tommy (11) ‘Yeh, but it might not be, like that 40 000 extra NHS appointments Keir Starmer announced. That was only 0.5% more.’ Mr Robertson – ‘So, what other information do we need to be sure if it’s important or not?’ Nicola – ‘Is it bigger than last year or ten years ago?’ Maggie – ‘What was it in England?’ Mr Robertson – ‘Great, … Continue reading NHS England spending EIGHT TIMES more per head on private consultants than ‘SNP’ NHS

Little evidence SNP is financially silencing charities

By Professor John Robertson, OBA According to the Herald today: Charities reluctant to condemn SNP decisions in fear of being ‘financially silenced’ Typically, the headline is based on one source – Clare MacGillivray, director of Making Rights Real (MRR). I share her concerns about the SNP leadership on this matter: but see little sign of the phenomenon she describes. Indeed, just this year, these three charities have attacked the Scottish Government/SNP revealing signs of and agenda: Read in full at: https://talkingupscotlandtwo.com/?s=charity+ And, Shelter, serial attacks. Rachel Reeves’ barefaced lie about NHS Scotland and the Daily Record’s campaign to make Anas Sarwar your First Minister

As the Daily Record amplifies the British Labour Party Chancellor’s lie about NHS Scotland, how often will it leave readers misinformed in order to support the Party? By stewartb The campaigning strategy of the British Labour Party to win the 2026 Holyrood election is becoming clearer. The performance of NHS Scotland will figure prominently. Politicisation and negative messaging about healthcare in Scotland has been pursued relentlessly by the Labour leadership for years: meanwhile the greater woes of NHS Wales under a Labour government in Cardiff are never acknowledged by Labour politicians whether in Holyrood or Westminster. It remains important to … Continue reading Rachel Reeves’ barefaced lie about NHS Scotland and the Daily Record’s campaign to make Anas Sarwar your First Minister

British Labour Party is well advanced in inserting its attack lines for the 2026 Holyrood election in public consciousness via our, sorry their, media

By stewartb ‘Neither Dr Kennedy nor the Guardian writer wished to put their comments into perspective’. Context and perspective when it comes to matters concerning the Scottish Government/NHS Scotland are no go areas also for BBC Scotland, STV, The Herald, The Scotsman, the Daily Record, even Channel 4 News etc. and that’s before we look at the sources these media outlets rely on in the British Labour Party. the Tories and the Lib Dems in Holyrood. No context, no perspective, endless, repeated negativity and bias by omission – a rich and powerful brew! Amongst all this, the British Labour Party … Continue reading British Labour Party is well advanced in inserting its attack lines for the 2026 Holyrood election in public consciousness via our, sorry their, media

Just a complaint, no charges but Alex Salmond has been the top story on the Politics page of BBC Scotland website since 3 November while the Labour council leader actually charges fades within hours

By Anonymous Another BBC ‘Blink and you miss it’ headline at the top of their Scottish pages of their website when it is considered to be too #BAD a story connected to another political party who are in opposition to the SNP. While many headlines concocted by the BBC and so promoted as being connected to, as in linked to a #SNPBAD story, well as articles they stay (high) up on the BBC website for days on end, sometimes with different versions of the same story via a variety of articles in the Scottish pages of their BBC website. For example on their Scottish Politics page the top story is still a story connected to a … Continue reading Just a complaint, no charges but Alex Salmond has been the top story on the Politics page of BBC Scotland website since 3 November while the Labour council leader actually charges fades within hours

Stephen McCabe’s previous abusive behaviour

By Anonymous Someone online had bookmarked something else relating to Stephen McCabe. “Labour councillor Stephen McCabe last hit the headlines when he sent a letter to Michael Gove urging the Tory minister to bypass Holyrood” Is there no end to this guy doing both the wrong and the worse thing ? Rhetorical Q obviously. Seems he, McCabe, put country before party when he wrote to Michael Gove. However the only problem with that was that he put another country, UK/England, before his own country Scotland. (Also we know that with his party , Labour, they also put another country before Scotland , so I guess McCabe was also considering his own party too as well … Continue reading Stephen McCabe’s previous abusive behaviour

Daily Mail – 100 children as young as 13 dealing drugs in Scotland coerced by dealers ‘always’ not ‘often’ from cities in England

The above image is from the Times in 2017! Seven years later Scotland’s media refuse to tell us about this plague of County Lines drug gangs – extreme violence, child abuse, new cheaper deadly drugs helping to maintain Scotland’s drug deaths statistics, prostitution and people trafficking. Today, the Daily Mail which has in the past been more accurate, has: More than 100 children as young as 13 have been caught supplying drugs in Scotland as charities warn growing numbers are being forced into crime. Gangs are known to coerce vulnerable youngsters into trafficking drugs across the UK using so-called ‘county lines’ … Continue reading Daily Mail – 100 children as young as 13 dealing drugs in Scotland coerced by dealers ‘always’ not ‘often’ from cities in England

Rachel Reeves allowed to say ‘Frankly the performance of the NHS in Scotland under the SNP is worse than in any part of the United Kingdom’ unchecked by facts that it’s the exact opposite

Thanks to stewartb for alerting me to this: Rt Hon Rachel Reeves MP, Chancellor for the Exchequer in a BBC Radio Scotland interview with Gary Robertson, October 31: “… frankly the performance of the NHS in Scotland under the SNP is worse than in any part of the United Kingdom”. Source: https://x.com/i/status/1851917541041430825 How LOW is the leadership of the British Labour Party willing to sink in its lies and deceit? And can BBC Scotland get anymore useless – any more biased – as it fails again to hold a Westminster government minister to account regarding their dealings towards Scotland, even on such … Continue reading Rachel Reeves allowed to say ‘Frankly the performance of the NHS in Scotland under the SNP is worse than in any part of the United Kingdom’ unchecked by facts that it’s the exact opposite

Channel 4 News vaguely locates an organised crime plague entirely from England, in Glasgow and links it to Scottish Government responsibility

Thanks to Dottie for alerting me to this. Channel 4 News tonight had a special on County Lines gangs. From Police Scotland in 2019: The charity Crime-stoppers is today 14th January 2019 launching a campaign to highlight the pain and suffering that criminals from English cities are inflicting on vulnerable people in Scotland’s rural and coastal towns. The campaign aims to raise awareness of County Lines, which is when criminals from major cities such as Liverpool, Manchester, London and Birmingham are expanding their drug networks to other areas, bringing with it serious criminal behaviour such as violence, exploitation and abuse. The … Continue reading Channel 4 News vaguely locates an organised crime plague entirely from England, in Glasgow and links it to Scottish Government responsibility
